MUST SEE AREA ATTRACTIONS
Forged by vigorous industry, Lynchburg, Virginia has always been a cosmopolitan oasis within the otherwise pastoral Central Virginia. Our view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and place beside the historic James River has made us a unique destination for travelers seeking new adventures while being surrounded by natural beauty. With the guidance of our sales team, you can create your own adventure based on your group’s interests.
If history is your thing, we’ve got you covered. Experience the life and times of those who helped build Lynchburg’s foundation as a great city with a visit to the Lynchburg Museum in the iconic Old Court House or tour Point of Honor historic residence, with spectacular views of Downtown. And no visit is complete without experiencing the Old City Cemetery Museums & Arboretum and Anne Spencer House & Garden, home to the famed African American poet.
Just down the road, you’ll get a sense of the prominence of our region with a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, a visit to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, the National D-Day Memorial, and Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. Or time your visit during one of our many annual festivals, take a food and adult beverage tour, or go extreme with kayaking the James River or hitting the year-round slopes at Liberty mountain Snowflex Centre.
However you choose to experience our city, we’re glad you chose to spend your time with us.
