FAITH that Saves In Galatians

WARNING and PENALTY

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

We are liberated from legislation that comes

down against any God-honoring, saint-

edifying expression of His Spirit within us and our devotion to

Him.There is no restriction against showing love to an

orphan – no regulation limiting expressions of kindness, faithfulness, goodness, etc. We have

been liberated to “walk by the Spirit,” rather than being shackled/restrained by restrictive law.

OUR SPIRITUAL JUBILEE IS COMINGLET’S BE READY

“The times of the restitution of all things" are coming - the grand jubilee (Acts 3:21), "the regeneration" (Mt. 19:28) ushered in by "the trump of God" (1 Thess. 4:16,17).

The Spirit is "the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession" (Eph. 1:13,14; Rom. 8:19-23).

SORCERY• The Greek word in question here is pharmakeia, which, outside of

the book of Revelation, appears only here in all the NT writings. It appears twice in Revelation (9:21 and 18:23) -- the form pharmakeus appears in Rev. 21:8, and the form pharmakos is used in Rev. 22:15. "Primarily, pharmakeia signified the use of medicine, drugs, spells; then, poisoning; then, witchcraft. In sorcery, the use of drugs, whether simple or potent, was generally accompanied by incantations and appeals to occult powers" [The New Strong's Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words, p. 1436]. Such common words today as "pharmacist," "pharmacy" and "pharmaceuticals" come from this Greek word. The word's primary reference was to drugs, and to those who employed them for whatever reason (in this case: for godless purposes). The sorcerers would often take the drugs themselves to aid them in "seeing visions," but it was also not uncommon to give them to those who sought their services.
