“This I Believe” “Hook the reader!!!” did I hooked you? Maybe not, but at least you get start read this story and you won’t regret to finish it. My name is Francis, just an ordinary person but I got a special background which made me proud to said that I am a bit special than the others. I am an aborigine of Taiwan, the hunter in the mountains, the son of the ocean, the life of the nature. My father grew up in the east coast of Taiwan, it is a place which our people (the aborigines) live by the mountains and live by the sea. This is the place to learn how to live with the nature. We, the aborigines all believe that there are spirits in all natures, we respect all of them and treat equally to every life that live together with us. My father grew up at this wonderful place, during the life of school he moved out from the beautiful mountains and starts a new family in the cities. I grew up in the cities, but every year we went back to the eastern Taiwan for twice or more for visiting my grandparents. My grandfather is 100% aborigine (I’m only 25%), he is one of the chiefs in the village, and he is a great worrier, a great hunter, and a great person. He was only educated to 13(finish the elementary school), but he is one of the smartest person I ever met. He knows a lot by gaining knowledge through all his life, he learns from the nature. He said “when you go out into the wild, you may get bad results, but every time you make a mistake, you gain another new experience, and when you learn from it, you will get better and better.” All our people learn from the nature so that is one of the reasons why we respect it, it is our mother, our teacher, and the nature gave us everything we need to live. It sometime is really terrible, but is teaches us more than anyone else in the world, and we think as those
