Dear CFRW Members, If you ever have the opportunity to apply to be a Delegate to a Republican National Convention do so. What an exhilarating experience it was to be selected as a Delegate. As I stood there Tuesday Night, the "Official Opening" of the Convention, all I could do was think how
proud my Dad would have been of my opportunity. It is because of him I became involved in politics. Imagine my surprise when I received a text telling me how good I looked in yellow. It was a little like having big brother looking over my shoulder. I text the person who was in California how they knew I was in yellow. "C-SPAN" appeared on my phone. I had been so excited to see my local "Young Gun" on the stage I stood and yelled for him, and yes I was in yellow. Meeting people from other parts of California and other states was fantastic. The enthusiasm in the crown was infectious. I was so proud to be a Republican Woman. We gained some new members from those attending from the California Delegation. Our great array of speakers instilled in us "older folks" the party is indeed in good hands for the future. We had more women than the "other party convention". So where is this "War on Women"? Many, many thanks to the Clubs who participated in our first "Join the Federation Day". WE have good reports and look forward to hearing form some of these participants at our Fall Conference in a few days. Speaking of our Fall Conference, We hope you are all planning to attend. We are so honored to be having Rae Chornenky, NFRW President with us once again. The workshop on Friday, "Understanding the Propositions", presented by our Advocate Allison Olson, will be a fun interactive time. Friday night will see us motoring off to a fun Ambassador Event, by attending a dinner/theater production of "Singing in the Rain." On Saturday we will be invigorated by Co-Chair of the California Mitt Romney Campaign, former California Secretary of State Bill Jones our Luncheon Speaker. A fun workshop "Bylaws Love or Hate" presented by our Parliamentarian Joy Stewart and Irenemaree Castillo, followed by a huge Pep Rally. Imagine our joy when John Fund well known writer and contributor to Fox News agreed to be our Banquet Speaker, he will also be signing his latest book. I have this book and it will keep you on the edge of your chair. State Senator Jean Fuller will send us home all pepped up for the sprint to the finish. CFRW Members will be the "Let the Force Be With You Romney and Ryan". We can change the structure of the nation and California. You are the best of the best. ONE TEAM, ONE PURPOSE ONE GOAL. Thank you for the prayers and good thoughts for my mom and myself. See you in Fresno

Central Division Clubs have been very busy registering voters, and also working
on the September 22nd function suggested by CRP, some of our clubs was dark in
July and August but some will participate in this function. We are working hard
on membership, and only short 172 members from last year’s total, I am sure we
can meet or surpass that figure by the end of the year.
Central Division’s Fall Conference will be held on November 9th, 10th, and 11th,
shortly after the Presidential election, so we are planning a big celebration with
great speakers and much needed workshop and Committee Information Booths.
I have visited clubs, registered voters at our Mid State Fair and busy working on our Fall Conference.

manner in conflict with the CFRW
Bylaws.
Save this date. October 19-21, 2012 at the Holiday Inn, Downtown
Fresno.
That is the date for CFRW Fall conference. Central Division, Region 4 is
making plans for a great " Boots on the Road Rally ". Bring your
enthusiasm
to the party. On Friday we have the Dinner Show, "Singing in the Rain"
then Saturday we start our conference. We are in the process of
confirming our speakers and you will be notified when that is complete.
We as
Republicans, have an excellent chance of gaining back the White House.
Keep up the great work you all have been doing, November 6th is almost
here. Think, WIN, WIN, WIN.
CFRW Local clubs are NOT the fund raising
arm of the Party. Funds are raised and ex-
pended at the discretion of each local club.
The only monetary statewide obligation is the
payment of per capita dues as directed in
CFRW Bylaws, Article VI.
Funds are raised to help pay the expenses of
local clubs participation in:
(a) programs, at all levels; e.g. biennial con-
ventions, conferences, board meetings,
workshops and other educational programs;
(b) educating members to carry out the ob-
jectives of CFRW;
(c) preparing, printing and distributing bulle-
tins;

ty expense;

MESSAGE FROM THE BYLAWS COMMITTEE: AMENDMENTS TO NFRW BYLAWS
The deadline for submitting proposed changes to the NFRW Bylaws for this term is November 15,
2012. State federations, clubs, and individual members may submit recommended changes to the
Bylaws Committee using the official form available on the NFRW website.
Only those submissions received on the official form will be considered and each must be typed or
clearly printed. Proposed changes will be evaluated by the committee, forwarded to the Executive
Committee for review, and presented to the Board of Directors for a vote at the spring board
meeting. Final adoption of any changes to the NFRW bylaws will be determined by a vote of the
delegates to the biennial convention in Louisville next fall. Questions? Contact Suzanne Crow (LA),
Bylaws Chair, at [email protected]
We Can Win the White House by Calling Swing State Voters!
Your choice: either make phone calls now or have Obama for 4 more years!!
Consider these key facts: The Presidential race is very close. The race will be won or lost in the swing states. A total of 8 swing states have early/absentee voting. By Saturday, September 22, voters in 4 of the 12 swing states will have already started voting!!
We need to call swing state voters NOW!
HERE ARE 3 WAYS YOU CAN CALL VOTERS:
1. Call today from home or wherever you are using a computer and phone. To make calls for Romney, go to www.MittRomney.com and move your cursor on the Get Involved Tab and click on Call From Home (or for more detailed instructions and for suggested swing states to call, go to www.OperationSwingState.org and then click the Romney-Ryan tab). As of today, we suggest you create one or more accounts for these swing states (see our website for instructions on how to do this):
Ohio, Florida, and Virgina
2. Organize or attend an easy, fun, weekly Romney-Ryan Calling Party! For free tips and materials on organiz-ing, publicizing and conducting Romney-Ryan Calling Parties contact Susan Silver or Don Silver: [email protected] or 310.282.8440 3. A new option for calling with just a phone: The Colorado Americans for Prosperity Freedom Phones Script
This is a short, simple, issue-based script on the economy that informs swing state Colorado voters how the na-tional debt has increased from 10 to 16 trillion dollars under Obama. The system is easy to use and has auto-dialing.
Although you can call any day from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm Mountain Time, we especially encourage you to partici-pate this Saturday, September 22, in AFP's National Prosperity Action Day.
Just email or call us to request this script and instructions. Contact info: Susan Silver and Don Silver National Co-Chairs, Operation Swing State Swing State Co-Chairs, Republican Party of Los Angeles County

Most of the clubs of Northern Division do not meet for regular meetings in the summer, but that does not mean
they were not busy. Our members were working with candidates, hosting regional conferences and getting
ready for the critical November election.
Northern Division was well represented at the RNC Convention in Tampa with more than 16 members in-
cluding delegates, alternates and guests. What an exciting, inspiring and sometimes emotional experience for
all of us. It was so exciting to walk around the convention floor or visit the NFRW Sky Box and see Republi-
can Women friends from across the country. This is one of the best benefits to being a member of a Federated
club! I enjoyed having the opportunity to send back a blog to our members keeping them up to date on the
many daily activities going on in Tampa and what it felt like actually being there, helping to nominate the next
President and Vice President of the United States.
All of our clubs are busy making phone calls and walking precincts now that the campaign to November is in
full swing! Many of our clubs are in charge of running the county Victory offices, our members are hosting
candidate nights, working on campaigns and volunteering at candidate fundraisers.
We are encouraging all our members to sign up to make phone calls from home for Romney/Ryan to swing
states. We have the best team to lead our country back to prosperity. So many of our members are volunteer-
ing to deploy to Reno for Nobama Nevada, in fact, Novato RWF is one of the first official sponsors with 6
club members signed up for Nevada to walk precincts and talk to voters. It would be so exciting if California
could also help to ensure that key swing states go Republican for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan!
Our outstanding Northern Division Victory 2012 Chair, Janet Gardner, is doing an awesome job of setting
up our Victory 2012 website. She will be including candidate endorsements from County parties, volunteer
opportunities for precinct walking or phone banks, schedules for volunteer training, and special events, for
each of our counties. This will be a “one stop shopping” site not just for our members but any Republicans
looking for opportunities to get involved. Besides helping to elect our candidates we are thinking of recruiting
some potential new members as well!
Northern Division will host 3 informative events on September 22 for "Join the Federation Day.” These
events will highlight the many activities we do to help our communities with Literacy Projects and Caring for
America. We plan to reach out to more Republican women by providing an opportunity to network and learn
more about the Federation of Republican Women. We look forward to recruiting new members and we thank
the CRP for their help publicizing these important events. Thank you Novato RWF, Silicon Valley RWF and
Sutter-Yuba RWF for sponsoring the September 22 events!
Our Fall 2012 conference on November 17 is at the Sacramento Marriott in Rancho Cordova. The theme of
the Conference is Our Next Step After Victory in November. Our conference Chair Marlene Nelson, with the
help of the clubs from the North East Region will be planning a very exciting conference. We will start off
with some important workshops on Friday, Parliamentary Procedures, Membership Promotion/Growing your
Clubs, and Leadership & Mentoring to Build a Stronger Club.
We will have a full day on Saturday with some very informative speakers including Republican State As-
sembly Chair Connie Conway, Republican Strategist Dan Schnur, CFRW Advocate Allison Olson, and Con-
gressman Tom McClintock. We are also planning another fun Silent/ Live Auction and Christmas Bazaar. Our
Conference will be just 10 days after the critical election so we are planning this one day conference to give
our members a chance to relax together and most important, celebrate our victories with Republican Women from across Northern Division.
I have been so fortunate to visit many of our clubs during the past few months and I look forward to visiting
more including Lake County, Ukiah, Trinity County, and Georgetown Divide. It is an honor to meet so many
wonderful and hard working Republican Women and to have the opportunity to serve as your Northern Divi-
sion President. On to victory in November and winning back our Country! God Bless America Republican Women LEADING THE WAY

If it is true that WOMEN IN NUMBERS WIN then get ready, we’re going to Win. Each of our four
Southern Division Board of Directors’ meetings (Road Shows) had over 200 in attendance, the last one, a
Rock ‘n’ Roll GOP Rally, 350. The energy and enthusiasm of our members is just thrilling. With all that is
going on - does anyone remember Summer? True, we were ‘dark’ with respect to regular meetings, but a
torch otherwise: campaigning, county fairs, street fairs, the movie 2016, the Presidential primary season (so
glad Romney came out on top), and finding out who our Vice Presidential candidate would be. And then there was the
Republican National Convention. Whether you were fortunate enough to go to Tampa, or were home watching it on
television, everyone felt the genuine outpouring of belief in our candidates and their families, and enthusiasm for the
upcoming election was on everyone’s faces. Thank you, Clint, for ‘making our day.’ With Mitt Romney and Paul
Romney we are on the way to Restoring America. Boo to the Democrat Convention – who could watch it? We in Los
Angeles, though, had fun when our leftist Mayor Antonio Villargarosa demonstrated in front of the world what a true
idiot he is.
Voter registration: the double-booth at the Los Angeles County Fair is such a hit: the voter registration results are the
best in our history. Kudos to Los Angeles county president Joy Bliss, and Patti Adair, fundraiser for the Fair. San Diego
County clubs (president Lynn Ann Reagan) have done such a good job at voter registration; San Diego turned ‘RED’ in
early September. Orange County (OCFRW president Sue Hamilton) not only had a very busy Republican booth at its
county fair, but were involved in numerous other street fairs, all well represented by local clubs with busy booths.
Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties all had unique and powerful events and activities.
Powerhouses all. There are great signs that the voters have the same concerns we do, and will say NO to Obama. The
demand for yard signs and bumper stickers is out of sight!

Endorsement problems: We had a few hiccups – all involving Endorsements. Internal club strife.
Member to member. Club vs. club. This Open Primary business is causing confusion, though we
worked to defuse situations as they arose. Primarily, problems arose in R vs R races. Many of us
believe the CFRW should look into possible bylaw solutions to these POST-primary endorsement
problems. However, by now everyone is settled down, and working together to defeat Obama and to
help our local candidates win their elections.
Swing State Calling Parties: The Romney campaign has a relatively subdued presence in Southern California given
California’s ‘blue’ status. However, the hit of the fall season are the Romney Swing State Voter Calling Parties .
Vastly important – if Romney does not win swing states – well, we won’t go there. These are fun, too. Pot luck, wine
and cheese, meet and greet, there are many ways to get people to these parties.
And then there is the Join the Federation Day, a collaboration of the CFRW, thanks to President Carol Hadley, and
the CRP, thanks to Chair Tom Del Beccaro, on September 22, 2012. We are celebrating it with local Book Drives for
Sharing the Wealth of Literacy. We will report on the results in the next CFRW newsletter.
Last but not least, we are preparing a big celebration on November 10. Our Theme is. This is when we will giving out
awards to the clubs for all the members who’ve been brought in, the work the clubs have done in publishing
newsletters, registering voters, and Caring for America. We will also introduce our newest club in Imperial County
and incoming president Carol Smith to the members. Their 1st Per Capita report with 30 members is in! Please join
us if you can. www.cfrwsoutherndivision.org. Nancy

Again . . . Something new!
Southern Division sent this article on Margaret Scott-Chaffey and the question was, “what should be done with this profile?” After reading through the profile, I began to wonder how many other grand members of the CFRW are amongst our members. In the Central Division two names pop-up right away and that is without even thinking about all the wonderful women I have met. So, Central and Northern Division Presidents I am asking you to send in an article on one grand woman in your Division. How you select this woman is up to you - ask your board for names, add more of a criteria than 25 years in CFRW and send it out to the Clubs, think of women that are members but not extremely active anymore. I know it will be very hard to select just one woman in each Division, but I have faith you can do it. Think outside the box and let’s honor these wonderful women with TWENTY-FIVE years or more experience with CFRW. We will do this each quarter until January 2014. The long-standing members of the CFRW are important in our lives, we learn from their experiences, from listening when they share about what has worked and what has
not, what is important, and

On September 22 and in conjunction with the California Republican Party the CFRW held a statewide push for mem-bership in the Federation with an activity which was to collect books for literacy. Each division helped to make this day successful by conducting events at local club levels. Much credit and thanks is due to our division presidents
and vice presidents for coordinating the events on a tight time schedule. And of course, thanks are due to all the clubs and mem-bers who participated so willingly and enthusiastically toward this goal. I am giving a recap of the activities as they were reported to me. If I missed reporting your club’s activities, please send me your information and I will prepare a follow up in the next state newsletter on the events that were not mentioned in this article. CENTRAL DIVISION EVENTS: Thank you President Dottie Schlosser and First Vice President Betty Scheidt for getting the ball rolling in Central Division. There was not only a promotion of awareness of Republican Women Federated; you also registered voters as well. The Bakersfield RWF donated GED books to the Bakersfield Homeless Center and paid for GED test filings, which will ultimately improve the ability of employment opportunities for the homeless. The direct impact of the generous donations helped the Bakersfield Homeless Cen-ter rearrange their budget so as to keep a teacher. Cindy Pinson, President of Bakersfield RWF and her members should be com-mended for a job well done. President Janelle Siebert and Madera RWF held their event at the Madera Republican Headquarters. The Madera RWF will donate the books to rest homes in their area. Some of the books donated will be sold by the Cedar Creek Senior Living to raise money for the research of Alzheimer and other books will be used at a senior care facility. President Lynn Wyman and the Tehachapi RWF held an “OLD FASHIONED RALLY” in conjunction with the Literacy Book Drive; they had a BBQ dinner with a special guest speaker David Spady with Americans for Prosperity. Their book drive was for K-5th grades and they held a silent auction to raise funds in support of our troops. Thank you to both Janelle and Lynn and their members for participating. NORTHERN DIVISION EVENTS: Thank you President Roseann Slonsky-Breault for organizing the Northern Division efforts. President Nancy Prince and the Novato RWF held their event at the Marin GOP Headquarters where they collected new and very gently used children’s books. President Marcia Myers and the Sutter Yuba RWF held their event, which incorporated two counties. The Sutter County Library was invited to participate and talk about not only their Literacy program, but other valuable Literacy programs available in the two close com-munities. President Eve Bretzke and the Silicon Valley RWF held their event at the Santa Clara County Republican Headquarters where they promoted literacy and the education of voters. They welcomed women from all backgrounds who came to learn more about the CFRW and Caring for America. President Yvonne Fuller and the Nevada County RWF hosted an event at the Grass Valley Victory Center. They collected approximately 50 books, had volunteer training, phone banking, and event organizer Kim Pruitt made a short presentation on how to be a poll watcher. Thank you Nancy, Marcia, Eve, and Yvonne and your members for the enthusiastic efforts you put forward to make these all successful events. SOUTHERN DIVISION EVENTS: Thank you President Nancy Eisenhart and Third Vice President Claire Plotner for developing the initial “Share the Wealth of L itera-cy” logo and for organizing the Southern Division efforts. President Doris Kenney and the Woodland Hills RWF combined their book drive with a proposition workshop program. President Sandy Faulkner and the Oceanside RWF also held a book drive. River-side County’s representative was Elise Richmond who worked with President Lynette Simonson of the Riverside County RWF, the Coachella Valley clubs, including Palm Springs RWF and East Valley RWF. Elise’s theme was “A Book Drive As American As Apple Pie” and they served slices of apple pie to those who dropped off books. President Deborah Hobbs and the Rancho Mirage RWF purchased Spanish/English dictionaries and delivered them to a local school in need of dictionaries in an area that has a high num-ber of immigrant children attending school. President Sandy Hinds and the Lake San Marcos RWF had their book drive and donat-ed 35 mini page guides to the Constitution and 120 paperback books on American History to a local 5 th grade classroom library. Thank you Doris Sandy, Elise, Deborah, and Sandy and your members for all you have done to make these all successful events. Finally to wrap up my report, let’s not forget to say thanks to Cindy Atha for helping with the press announcements. The main goal of the “Join the Federation Day/Book Drive” was to carry our message of who Republican Women are and our compassion for our communities. Republican Women understand the importance of educated citizens and of course that all begins with the ability to read.

What do these words spel l . . . AGENDA 21
T hese are dangerous words when applied to the U.N. Conference on the Environment, the Conference on Human
Settlements, signed by the U.S., and the U.N. World Commission on Environment and Development in 1983. The
commission compiled a report - 40 pages long and titled Agenda 21- for Sustainable Development..
President Clinton created the “President’s Council on Sustainable Development” to implement recommendations in
Agenda 21 - federal, state, and local governments. The EPA and other agencies challenged state and local
governments to promote Agenda 21. An organization that people will find in local and state reports “ICLEI” (International
Council for Local Environmental Initiatives), has now contracted with over 600 cities and counties and more are added
every month.
What does it mean, here are a few examples:
Urban Boundary Zones are forcing people to live where they do not want to live.
Unreasonable acreage requirements for single dwellings. Check with your local agencies to see if and when a new
home being built will be limited to a certain size - if a future date is on the books, your area has already started to
implement a part of Agenda 21.
Los Angeles County citizens removed from their own private property for non-compliance with Agenda 21 in
recently adopted building codes.
Air district will have a “no burn” day, but across the road into the next county - no burn ban. Sensors are located in
the heaviest traffic areas, often the downtown area and at 5:00 - the traffic is gone.
There is so much to read and digest about Agenda 21, everyone is urged to do some research. We are very fortunate
to have a woman in the CFRW who is extremely knowledgeable about Agenda 21. That woman is Assemblywoman
Shannon Grove and when she talks about Agenda 21 and the problems it has already created and she mentions
certain words (like the words in the green box), better questions will be asked of our politicians . . . some who fully don’t
understand what is Agenda 21 and how to stop it.

Carol Hadley and I, arrived Saturday, most of the California delegation was housed at the TradeWinds Hotel in St Pete’s. The California Delegation was treated to a Beach Party in the evening. Former Governor Pete Wilson and Congressman Darryl Issa were also on the beach. Issa was the center of atten-tion because of the Fast & Furious Investigation his committee had been con-ducting.
Sunday was a jet-lag day. Carol & I had a long walk on the beach; later the California delegation joined the rest of the states at Tropicana Field for a Welcome Party - 20,000 of us for dinner and entertainment. We were pleased to see our Republican Women friends from around the county. The only excitement was the arrest of a protester with a gun and another machete. We still don't know what the provocation was but they both went to court the next morning.
Monday morning there was a rally at the hotel, and heard New Jersey Governor Chris Christi. He made many references to Cali-fornia's fiscal problems and compared his leadership to our Governor's on taxes and regulations. He said Romney would provide leadership for the nation the way Christi has provided for NJ. He also reminded us that he was the first sitting governor to endorse Romney. He was introduced by Meg Whitman, who again thanked the Governor for supporting her campaign for Governor of Cali-fornia.
The surprise of the morning was the announcement that there would be a showing of “2016: Obama’s America,” the movie. John Sullivan, the producer, explained how he came to make the movie. I asked him if his movie might have the same affect the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" ads had in 2004. He said his didn't know but that would be a good result.
Tuesday morning’s breakfast was hosted by former Governor Pete Wilson, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Congressman Darrell Issa, Ambassador George L. Argyros and former California Secretary of State Bill Jones with Special Guest U.S. House of Representa-tives Speaker John Boehner and Nationally Syndicated Radio Talk Show Host Dennis Prager.
The hotel is about 30 miles from the Convention Center, the New Jersey Delegation is next door, and Nebraska is up the street. Just about every state is in a different hotel spread over the greater Tampa Bay area; more than 400 buses transport the everyone. We all arrive at the Convention Center in time for the 2:00 p.m. revised opening session.
Ron Paul supporters were upset by a ruling from the podium about how the roll call of the states was to be conducted. The mi-crophone was next to my seat and several delegates gathered around the mike and started screaming “point of order, point of or-der”. This went on for 15 minutes and prevented us from seeing or hearing any of the speeches. The media, starved for a story , showed up prolonging the episode. Ron Paul stood at the back of the delegation, which only encouraged his supporters.
About 30 minutes before Texas was to cast its vote, the Romney delegates gathered around the mike. They were a more civil bunch and we actually did a bit of joking back and forth about the Paul supporters. I was surprised that Michigan or Massachusetts was not skipped during the roll call so their vote would put Romney over the top and make his nomination official.
Ann Romney’s speech was the highlight of Tuesday evening and I don’t think anyone was surprised when Mitt Romney came on stage. Wednesday evening was Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan’s night to shine and he did. I was prepared to hear a good speech but he gave a great speech. I was surprised by the negative headlines and televised comments describing Ryan’s comments as negative; the "shots he took" were delivered with a friendly tone and smile.
Thursday’s speakers spent time talking about Governor Romney, as well as the “special” appearance of Clint Eastwood. Carol and I were seated near the back of the convention hall and did not immediately understand that he was talking to an empty chair. Once we caught on, we realized just how hilarious Eastwood’s “act” was. The highlight of the night was Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech. I’m going to assume Republican Women were tuned in.
The pictures taken at the convention, are from the camera of Joan Clendenin.
