LinkedIn, built by silicon valley for professional workers, has tried unsuccessfully to enter the blue-collar market. Through the 2015 acquisition of Bright, a data-driven job site, LinkedIn hoped to expand its job matching technology to include non-white collar jobs. Since 2015, some non-blue-collar jobs are listed on LinkedIn, but LinkedIn has not changed profile settings to attract non-professional workers and has not increased learning options for non-professional workers. Additional forays into the blue-collar market (in India in 2019) has been focused around training unskilled workers into professional careers.
