3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing28th April 2015 | Maple House etc. venues, Birmingham3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing equipment is becoming increasingly more affordable, entering a number of
different industries and as a result driving UK manufacturing into the future. This year’s 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing
Conference will focus on the reasons why you should be investing in advanced technology, the potential risk factors and
how they can be avoided, and the equipment that’s suited to you. If you’re looking for the opportunity to create tailor made
products suited to your customer’s needs, this conference is for you.
Q1) Is it possible to converge traditional manufacturing with 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Technology?
As keynote speaker Steve Nevey and Lucid Innovation’s Alistair Williamson will say, the
most effective way of implementing this technology is by combining it with already
existing manufacturing processes. It’s often easy to forget the importance of conventional
manufacturing, but by ensuring 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing is part of the entire
manufacturing process, from start to finish, exceedingly innovative products can be created.
Q2) I’m an SME – How can I afford to implement advanced technology like this in my business?
3D Printers don’t have to be expensive, and the cost of your investment depends on
what you’ll be using the technology for. 3D Printing can save costs in the long run, so
it’s important to find out whether the initial costs outweigh the benefits you’ll gain.
Q3) I’m already using Additive Manufacturing, and have been for a while – what can this event offer that I don’t already know?
If you’ve been using Additive Manufacturing for a while, you probably know the ins and
outs of the industry and how it can benefit your business. However, the possibilities with this
advanced technology are endless, and it’s great to network with companies who might be
using this technology in different ways to you. If you feel like you can contribute to the event,
please feel free to contact our production team, at [email protected]!
Q4) How can I be sure that 3D Printing technology can be used in my industry?
3D Printing covers a whole host of processes and techniques. The materials available
for 3D Printing have come a long way in the last three decades, with an abundance
of new materials available in different forms. Specific materials can be developed for
specific applications, with rapid prototyping taking a backseat and working parts being
printed daily. Regardless of your industry, 3D Printing probably has a solution for you.
Q5) I understand the benefits of 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, but I’m not sure about which equipment would be best for my company. How will this event help?
As well as hearing from manufacturers from a number of different industries
about the equipment they’re using and what works for them, we have a
number of technology providers who will be showcasing what they offer, so
you can learn about what you need and how it would work for you.
