Building Businesses. Changing Lives.

TechGROWTH Ohio is a program funded by the Ohio Third Frontier program, Ohio University and industry sponsors to provide investments and business expertise for startup companies in southeastern Ohio. It is part of an entrepreneurial ecosystem that includes programs supporting university and regional technology commercialization and small business incubation.

Think it.With advances in 3D printing technology, it has never been easier to take an idea out of your head and into your hands.

From a single 3D print, to rapid prototyping, and even small-batch production, creating a product is faster and more affordable than ever before. With your ideas and our tools & expertise, the possibilities are endless.

Design it.Whether your design is sketched on a napkin or created using CAD software, we collaborate with you to develop and refine your design to ensure that the final product turns out just as you envisioned. If you wish to learn how the equipment works, the Innovation Center can provide you with one-on-one training.

Make it..Choose from mid to high-end 3D printers & our product development tools:

• The Objet350 Connex 3D Printer The most sophisticated, precision 3D printer in the region• The Form 2 Desktop SLA industrial quality resin-based 3D printer• The Ultimaker 3 FDM dual extruder 3D printer for two-color printing• Knockout Mobile Scanner Mobile scanning for 3D design and printing• NewForm 16:16 Vacuum Former Professional forming capability• Bantam PCB Milling Machine Precision desktop printed circuit board milling machine

Getting Started.3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a process for creating 3D objects from blueprints called CAD files, saved in the .stl format. To get started, you can:

• Create your own CAD file — free CAD software is available at websites such as tinkercad.com• Download an existing CAD file — you can find CAD files online for many objects through sites such as thingiverse.com• Scan an existing object — scanning technology can transform an existing object into a CAD file• Get CAD design assistance from the Innovation Center

Once your CAD design is created and saved in the .stl format:

1. Email it to [email protected] to receive a printing cost estimate.2. Choose the material and 3D printer that are best suited to your design and budget.3. Place your order by making a payment online by credit card or internal fund transfer (OHIO University clients only). You will receive an email notification with an estimated production date and again when your 3D printed object is complete!
