• Many jaguars live in caves to get away from predators. They are good swimmers and love water. Jaguars will fight other jaguars to protect their territory and their young.

• Jaguar’s enemies are mostly caimans and anacondas. Caimans are small crocodiles. Anacondas are very large snakes. They are the second biggest predators to male and female jaguars. Believe it or not jaguars are afraid of us. Humans are the biggest predators to a jaguar. That’s why they try to hurt us.

• Jaguars watch their prey and then sneak up on it by leaping from the ground or from a tree. They kill large animals by pouncing on the back and breaking the neck of its prey. If the deer is too big to eat in one sitting, it will bury some of it with leaves and twigs to hide it from other animals.
