2 I’ll Always Remember...

I’ll always remember...My junior homecoming because that was the day I made a fool of myself. Still, it was a great day because I realized that my class could be supportive.

I’ll always remember...When me and my brother would always get in trouble from Mrs. Colon for pass-ing notes and doodling with Chelsea Otholt. It was scary getting in trouble with her. When Alyssiah and I would glue our hands together in Chun’s and we would get in trouble. I will always remember my BFF BO!

I’ll always remember...Our softball trip to Kauai, team irrahz, my triple fresh twin, my bfffe, my softball family, Laie nights, prom night, and everything that ever made me smile and laugh.

I’ll always remember...The time when my friends and I went to Ali’i Beach Park to shoot Kelly’s music video. Even though there were some bad incidents, we all seem to just laugh it off. Like how the dog was coming to us, when we were in the water and when we were going to leave the beach, one of Jenirose’s leg got stuck on a hole on the grassy area.

I’ll always remember...When me, Mia, and my cousin Natasha would

always get in trouble from Mrs. Chow in 7th or 8th grade for dress code. I’ll also remember when Mia used to ride her bike at 5 a.m. in the morning to my house so we could catch bus together and she would always bring this huge wooden paddle with her for protection.

I’ll always remember...All the good times with Miss America. The cool cats. The “not it” game. Late night cruise seshs. BMW. Every single second with my Bestfriend Ruth Tuya. Pearlridge weekly visits. Nickname “Tan-Tan.” Laughing at every-single thing and dancing to every song in the car with best-friends. I’ll always remem-ber High School days.

I’ll always remember...All my brothers, Kamalei, Matt, Kris, Christian, Dar-rin, Skye, Kaimana, Nainoa, Taleon, Brennon, Jeffery A, Chayse, Noland, Kainalu, David, Anu, June, Keoni,

Brent, William, BRUNO, TJ, Eetu, Hunter, Destry, Jason, Kaleo, Kekai, Kepa, Victor, Rudi, Boboi, Chris, Jerold & My High School Sweetheart Aulani Herrod!!! I’ll always remember...Being a class officer and having our arguments, fights, meetings, weird conversations, and Kenika’s box, lol.

I’ll always remember...Our 2009 softball team when we would have nights out, BBQs, and when when we won OIA’s, when Trusila scared Althia and made her choke on the bubble drink at homecoming sophomore year, Althia’s retarded-ness in Mrs. Holdren’s class, my BFF ADO, and all the adventures in high school.

I’ll always remember...When Pili was playing cards in 1st period and asked Mr. Farrant “Wanna see a magic trick?” Mr. Farrant: “Yeah can you disappear?” And the times when “the gang” used to cruise on the side of

the cafe, and always An-thony Broberg! :)

I’ll always remember...Trips to Pearlridge, Wan-takan’s GPS getting us lost in town, teaching Kenika how to race and not blow his engine, leaving Miss America at the beach, “The Man Purse,” BMW’s, and almost dying whenever Kenika drove.

I’ll always remember...Kelly’s outrageous dreams, the time my friends and I went to Ala Moana and we

lost James and had to ask security to help us, the look on the security guard’s face when we said he was 17, and the fun tennis practices that I will always cherish.

I’ll always remember...When my friends and I went to the beach and Kelly got so excited she tripped once she got to the water.

I’ll always remember...The 2009 fireman muster when we were playing the Bucket Brigade and I saw all of my classmates slip and fall on the mud and I got a big cut, I’ll also always remember when my love asked me out at Tanaka Square.

I’ll always remember...The events we have done and all the sports we have competed. It is always the best to remember the good times than the bad.

I’ll always remember...The time I spent with Char-lie Case. I will also never

always be remembered!

3forget the experiences I had in AP physics and the fun I had with the 2011 class.

I’ll always remember...All the laughter and memo-ries with our “7pack” and especially SuperSpy because whenever we’re together we make things 10 times more funnier than they actually are. Being in robotics and all the experi-ences that come with it: including the Econolodge (EXIT NOW), the late food runs, staying at the school and pulling all nighters, and of course all the traveling. :)

I’ll Always Remember...

6 Class of 2011 valedictorians

How do you feel about graduating?I feel excited to be mov-ing on to the next part of my life. I also feel gratitude towards Waialua High School for prepar-ing me for my future challenges.

What are your plans after high school?I am going to UH-Manoa first for my undergradu-ate studies. After this I must go to the mainland so I can get my veterinar-ian degree. The reason for this is that there is no school in Hawaii that of-fers that degree.

Who is someone that helped you get through high school? My girlfriend helped me through high school. Her name is Charlie and when I am feeling stress about school or other things, talking and seeing her

relaxes me so I am not so overwhelmed. She is always there to support me.

What was your most memorable moment in high school? My most memorable moment in high school was when I asked out my girlfriend.

What do you worry about the most about what you are going to do after you graduate?I wasn’t sure exactly what career I would want to pursue, but I then real-ized that I don’t need to know right when I start college so I have plenty of time to decide.

What school will you be attending after you graduate?I will be attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

My most memorable mo-ment in high school was when our robotics team won the San Diego Regional in 2010, the first Hawaii team that won in seven years.

What do you worry about the most about what you are going to do after you graduate?

What I worried about the most about life after gradu-ation yet what I am equally excited about is just the overall college experience. Doing new things, meeting new people, working with them and possibly rooming with them--it’s an interest-ing process yet that is what makes it a great point in many people’s lives and I hope I feel the same way.

What school will you be at-tending after you graduate?I will be attending either The University of Hawaii at Manoa or California State University.

How do you feel about graduating?I feel that graduation and high school in general came by relatively quickly, yet I am happy with what I have done in my years here, as well as graduating in general.

What are your plans after high school?I plan to attend college in the fall to pursue a Bach-elors degree in civil engi-neering, then possibly get a job in the future or go to graduate school.

Who is someone that helped you get through high school? There is not just one person, but it’s all my friends that help me get through high school. We went through good and bad experiences here at Waialua together and they were there to make every day better.

What was your most memorable moment in high school?

Chadwick Ulep Tyler Smith

7Class of 2011 valedictorians

How do you feel about graduating?I’m kind of scared, yet excited. It still hasn’t hit me that I am a senior, however it will probably hit me the moment that I walk down to receive my diploma be-cause then I will know I am no longer a student but an alumni.

What are your plans after high school? My plan is to dorm and attend the University of Ha-waii at Manoa and major in nursing, to pursue my dream of becoming a registered nurse working in the Neona-tal Intensive Care Unit.

Who is someone that helped you get through high school?I don’t have one person who helped me, but I had a group of people, especially my family and friends. I had love and guidance from my Dad, Mom, Step-Dad, sisters and the rest of my family. Even my friends all helped me with school work

and troubles in life.

What was your most memorable moment in high school? My most memorable mo-ment were all my trips with the robotics team. One unforgettable year was my junior year when I was a part of the drive team, and we won our first regional!

What do you worry about the most about what you are going to do after you graduate? The thing I am still worry-ing about is how I am going to pay for college and the cost of being on my own. I fear I won’t be able to pay for everything, but know-ing that I am determined, dedicated, and responsible I WILL find a way to get to my goal.

What school will you be at-tending after you graduate?I will be attending the Uni-versity of Hawaii at Manoa.

Kortney PaoHow do you feel about graduating?I’m pretty stoked about graduating. I think it’s going to be a bitter-sweet experi-ence. I’m excited to start college and move on from high school, but it’s going to be sad to leave at the same time.

What are your plans after high school? After high school I plan to dorm at UH Manoa to study Special Education.

Who is someone that helped you get through high school? My friends helped me to survive high school by keeping me entertained! But the people that helped me the most are my dad and sisters. My dad has been vital to anything and everything successful that I have ever done in my life. He is my inspiration and his unconditional love is the reason why I am who I am today.

What was your most memorable moment in high school?I have a lot of great memo-ries from high school, and I cherish them all. My most memorable high school moments are just about any ones spent with my friends- even if we were bored in class, we found ways to have fun. One of my favor-ite memories is the day that Kortney and I planned my ridiculous outfit that I will be wearing to her wedding some day!

What do you worry about the most about what you are going to do after you graduate? There are so many things but deadlines creep up on me and they can get over-whelming at times.

What school will you be at-tending after you graduate?University of Hawaii at Manoa... along with my twin, the other valedicto-rians, and a group of other classmates!

Julie Au
