The municipality of Batan lacks tourism spots due to focus of the province of Aklan on developing tourism sites in Boracay Island which prevent Batan to establish tourism sites which can cater new job opportunities and also services to improve their area.Need Analysis

The project may also provide opportunities such as:Offer more accommodation to touristsCreate more tourism site optionProvide a resilient structure which will present tourists safetyMore Tourist Activity options such as:All Terrain Vehicle (ATV)ZiplineAgricultural RestaurantNeed Analysis

Flooding caused by typhoons is the main cause why service in tourism is disturbed. In order to improve the production, proper irrigation system should be provided. New technique such as Bioswales should also be considered to progress the production and also may provide reusability of water that can be used for other featuresRecommendation

Concentration of province of aklan to the major site which is Boracay Island holds opportunities for tourism development of the province. In order to solve such problem, more accommodation and tourist destination for the Province of Aklan may be a key for improvement of tourism in the area, it will also provide another option for tourist to go to. Recommendation

Agricultural Land is the main source of livelihood in the Philippines because of its abundant production of plants.Tourism and agriculture have different function in terms of the services it provides, but both are affected by typhoons, it is important to think of an architectural solution to support the productivity of both sector.RATIONALE

The figure above shows the ferrocement concrete wall filled with coconut fibre

The figure shows the procedure of putting the coconut fibre on the wall square wood form then filled it with concrete cement.

STRUCTURAL CONCEPT

The coconut husk is a very effective way for a cost efficient and sustainable way of construction. Coconut shell can be an innovation for a project for it gives properties and specifications that can help adapt to the climate change in the country. MAT FOUNDATION Mat Foundation is economical for it does not need boring unlike pile method which causes a lot of time and money for construction. It is also very efficient for a soil that is overexposed to water.

SPACE CONCEPT

The proponent aims for the focal point to be the recreational activity area for the farm resort for it is the essence of creating an alternate destination to Boracay Island

UTILITY CONCEPT

Bioswales is a technology that helps to lessen the level of flood water, it helps to filter and make the flood water reusable to every household. By using bioswales, various vegetations can still be planted because it does not affect the growth or the process of a plant.
