VELOCITYHEADQUARTERS OFFICE ICE HOUSE ROAD HONG KONG ISLAND

Central is the heart of nancial business district in Hong Kong. Most of the famous nancial

towers are located there, e.g. IFC, HSBC etc, where adding a new nancial headquarters can

strengthens the prosperous image strongly. Moreover ow of vehicles (Connaught Rd C) is quite

fast, which is similar to operation of a nancial headquarters, where everything is done as fast as

possible, since ‘TIME IS MONEY’. Therefore, it sheds light upon the theme of my design, ‘VELOCITY’,

to respond to site.

- 2 entrances for different types of people - Escalator to 1/F (Customer Service Centre) - Extra elevator to serve headquarter

BMW WELTCOOP HIMMELB (L) AU MUNICH GERMANY

Coop Himmelb (L) AU were the winner of the competition of

BMW’s headquarters and museum in 2000. they introduce a large

transparent hall with sculptural roof and double cone on existing

company headquarters building.

The building capture the view of the landscape of the

Oympiapark from inside by using transparent glass facades, which

create a visual interaction between BMV Welt and surrounding.

Double Cone, the focal point of the building. It is an event space

offering all the options of a public assembly place, e.g. concerts,

exhibitions and talk shows. Since the shape of this area is much special

than the others, it can highlight the items which are displayed there.

The heart of BMW Welt, vehicle delivery, forms the spatial hub and

functional backbone of the building, and the processes connected with

this function extend over almost all levels. The bridge can bear high

loading since it only get 4 points’ structural connection.
