Apostolic Letter of His Holiness Pope Francis on the Occasion of the Year of Consecrated Life
Pope Francis inaugurates the Year of Consecrated Life (30th November 2014 to 2nd February 2016) with this letter addressed to all consecrated people. Pope Francis writes not only as successor of Peter but also as a brother “who like yourselves is consecrated to God.”
He issues a strong invitation to “look to the past with gratitude… live the present with passion and embrace the future with hope,” going out to all the world proclaiming the Gospel with joy.

The prophetic role of consecrated people in the life of the Church and the world is explored in this letter through the teachings of Pope Francis.
