In the exhibition halls, you will find products and services arranged according to the following machine groups:INTERNATIONAL EMO CONFERENCES “Sustainable Manufacturing” 20 and 21 September 2011 Organised by the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and FormingTechnology (IWU), the trade journal “Maschinenmarkt” and VDW, this confe-rence will provide comprehensive information on activities within andbeyond Germany in the area of sustainable manufacturing solutions. Theevent will focus on the following topics: -Technical approaches to improving the energy efficiency and resource effi-

ciency of cutting and forming machine tools and manufacturing processes -Efficient machine concepts and process chains -Sustainability-oriented production planning and production systems

“New Manufacturing Technologies in the Aerospace Industry” 22 and 23 September 2011 Within the framework of the Machining Innovations Conference and underthe banner “New Manufacturing Technologies in the Aerospace Industry”,future trends in component manufacturing and machining in the aerospaceindustry will be discussed and current solutions will be presented. Thefocus will be on the use of new, high-performance materials (titanium alloys, composites, etc.) and the associated new tooling and machine tool con-cepts along with strategies for 5-axis machining.

SPECIAL SHOW: “MILESTONES IN COST-EFFECTIVETITANIUM COMPONENT PRODUCTION” This special show will present current highlights and milestones of innova -tive manufacturing technologies in the aerospace industry. The results ofpioneering joint research projects and outstanding technological approa-ches will be presented. The show will focus primarily on the manufacture ofsmall and large titanium structural components and on the machining ofcomposite materials.

EMO MATCHMAKING Under the programme entitled “b2fair”, EMO organiser VDW will be workingtogether with Enterprise Europe Network to help exhibitors and visitorsestablish new business contacts. Already in advance of the EMO, a data -base-supported platform will be used to schedule meetings between visit-ing professionals and exhibiting companies, e.g. to facilitate the creation ofinternational partnerships or for the acquisition of new customers, suppliersor trading partners.
