THE WORLD IS ONE FAMILY (ART EXHIBITION) A PROJECT FUNDED BY INDIA- AFGHANISTAN FOUNDATION Language of art and culture is universal and cannot be confined to the boundaries of any particular creative sector or to any geographical boundary. Afghanistan and India have had an osmosis of culture influence on each other that can be traced way back to the spread of Buddhism, Gandhara art and Mathura art of creation. The art language of these countries draws from one common language – the language of culture. On the occasion of International women’s Day, the exhibition “The world is one family” aims to showcase the artistic creations to celebrate womanhood through colors and forms. The exhibition seeks to facilitate greater interaction, friendship, understanding and good will between the two nations, as well as a statement of mutual support. The exhibition was a unique platform for women artists to express their emotions and ideas, get access to exposure at an international level and thereby motivate the artists, and to engage in a distinctive exchange of ideas and culture. Considering the importance of art IAF was co- sponsor to this exhibition Dr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Ambassador of Afghanistan to India, Riva Ganguly Das, General Director Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Kumar Vikas Saxena, Director empowerment organization inaugurated the India- Afghanistan Women Artist show held on 5 th March 2018 at ICCR and as the chief Guest of the show, the Afghan Ambassador lauded the art pieces of the Afghan and Indian female artists showcased at the event. Mr. Ambassador spoke about Afghan women’s achievements and their contribution for the development of Afghanistan post 2001. The IAF secretary Mr. Hamid Tahzeeb attended to the event to encourage the Afghan-Indian women artists.

Cultural Week Festival- 2017

The project funded by India-Afghanistan

Foundation (IAF)

Afghanistan and India’s relation is envisioned on a wider

spectrum which is witnessed through the prism of

mutual trust, people-to-people contact, historical

linkages and bilateral ties. To take the indo-Afghan

relation to the trajectory level, the Afghanistan-India

cultural week was organized on 29-30th November,

2017. Aimed to exchange culture, Knowledge and

education three day event brought together

academicians, experts and government officials. The

three- day program was sponsored by the India-

Afghanistan Foundation.

The event was inaugurated on 29th November 2017 at

the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to

India, The program was attended by Prof. Mohammad

Rasool Bawari, Acting Minister of Information and

Culture of Afghanistan, Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of

Culture-Republic of India, Dr. Shaida Mohammad

Abdali, Ambassador of Afghanistan to India and

Ambassadors of Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey, Nepal,

Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, a part

from many Indian and Afghan academician.

First day of the Cultural week programme started with

Joint Academic Seminar followed with Handicrafts and

Art exhibitions held at Indian Council for cultural

Relation (ICCR) on 30th November, 2017. Dating back

to history, India-Afghanistan share commonalities in

art and handicrafts which is acknowledged globally for

its fine work. Prominent artists and craftsmen from

India and Afghanistan jointly showcased their artistic

work. At the outset, the joint India-Afghanistan art

gallery was officially inaugurated by the Dr. Shaida

Mohammad Abdali, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to

India and Namrita Kumar, Acting General Director,

ICCR.

Indian music is famous in Afghanistan and the

collaboration of Indo-Afghan music traces back to 650

- 700 years old. Students are the future of any nation for

bringing in development in the country. Therefore, it is

imperative to motivate the youth for national building.

The third day of the India-Afghanistan cultural week was

celebrated by joint student’s program and folklore music

with dance performances in ICCR on December 1st,

2017 in New Delhi. In this program the prominent

artists’ from India-Afghanistan jointly performed and

mesmerized the audience.

The Afghanistan-India Cultural Week Festival was a jubilant moment for both the countries and have been witnessing a

strengthened relation of people-to-people contact spreading across the globe.

INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL (JNU)

Food festivals are quite popular

these days as they give the perfect

opportunity to indulge in a variety

of delicious dishes all in one place.

Every year the students of

Jawaharlal Nehru Universtiy in New

Delhi organize the food festival, this

year the group of Afghan students

from Jawaharlal Nehru University

visited the India-Afghansitan

Foundation(IAF),Delhi chapter and

conveyed their desired to organize

the Afghan foof festival on 26th

January 2018 at JNU.

Considering its importance in terms

of culture and helping the Afghan

students, IAF, Delhi chapter

immediate action was taken in

approving and funded the project.

More than twenty countries

participated in this festival and

serve up all kind of their traditional

foods.

IAF secretary Mr.Hamid Tahzeeb,

diplomates from Embassy of

Afghansitan, scholars were

participated in this festival to

encourage the students.

INTERNATIONAL

FOOD FESTIVAL (SOUTH ASIA UNIVERSITY)

Food festival is primarily to re-integrate value back

into food culture. Through such festivals,

communities become aware of the importance of

reviving their traditional food practices and

production.

Every year the students of South Asia University in

New Delhi organize the International food festival,

this year the food festival organized by eight

SAARC countries participated to serve up all kind

of their traditional foods and the Afghan students

from SAU approach the India- Afghanistan

Foundation, Delhi chapter and brought the

importance matter of food festival. Considering its

importance in terms of culture and helping the

Afghan students, the IAF provide financial support

and funded the project in order to encourage the

Afghan students

It is worth mentioning that Afghan food was highly

appreciated by the students, the administration and

the faculty members of the University as well got

the excellent position.

The IAF secretary Mr. Hamid Tahzeeb, diplomates

from Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

New Delhi were participated in this festival to

encourage the students.

KHAIRUL BAYAN

A PROJECT FUNDED BY INDIA-

AFGHANISTAN FOUNDATION

The manuscript entitled” khairul Bayan” by

16th century poet, writer and sufi Bayazid

Ansari better known as Pir Roushan of Ormur

Tribe, is an important copy preserved at Salar

Jung Musemum, Hyderabad (India).This is a

single known copy in India. The condition of

book being not satisfactory, the present scholar

raised great concerned in preserving the

masterpiece work of 16th century to preserve

the further damage of the single know

manuscript in India. The preservation of 16th

century Indo-Afghan social, cultural and

religious heritage.

The matter was brought to the notice of the

India-Afghan Foundation, Delhi chapter in a

proposal format and immediate action was

taken by the foundation in approving and

funded the project.

NOWRUZ FESTIVAL 1397

Nowruz is an ancestral Festivity marking the first

day of spring and the renewal of nature.

International Nowruz Day was declared by the

United Nations General Assembly in 2010.

Nowruz promotes values of peace and solidarity

between generations and with families as well as

reconciliation and neighbors, thus contributing to

cultural diversity and friendship among people and

different communities. Considering the precious

and valuable virtue of the Nowruz, The Embassy

of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New Delhi

and Indian Council for Cultural Relations

Government of India (ICCR) jointly celebrated the

International Day of Nowruz on March 20, 2018 at

Jawarlal Nehru University. To bring together the

academician and cultural performers at the same

platform to reflect the uniformity in the culture of

the both countries the India-Afghanistan

Foundation was co-sponsor to this program.

The event was inaugurated and attended by H.E.

Riva Gangly Das, Director General of ICCR,

Dr.Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Ambassador of the

Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to India,

Prof.Chintamani Mahapatra Rector JNU, Prof.

Syed Ainul Hasan Chairperson, Centre for Persian

and Central Asian studies JNU, diplomats, Indian

Government officials, academics and Journalists.

H.E. Ambassador Abdali addressed about the red

flower festival which is called in Persian (Milla Gole

Sorkh) that are growing in hills and people from all

over the country travel to Mazar Sharif for

celebrating the event, where the blue Mosque

exists. He also mentioned on the day of former that

people gathering in the capital, Kabul, displaying

their crafts.

The Afghan food stall was catered for and served

to all invitees and participants of the event. The stall

was also decorated with Afghan handicrafts and

products as well as Haft Seen (Haft Mewa) tabletop

to further showcase the Afghan culture and the way

Afghan celebrate Nowruz.

The program was further enlightened with Afghan Musicians, Dandia performance, Attan and Qarsak by

groups of Afghan and Indian students.

The Nowruz celebration was a jubilant moment for both the countries and have been witnessing a

strengthened relation of people-to-people contact spreading across the globe.

PASHTO BOOKS FOR

JNU DEPARTMENT OF

PASHTO

IAF sponsored the project of

procurement of two hundred seventy

nine (279) books of general Pashto

books, Novel, Literature and history as

well linguistics books to Pashto

department of Jawaharlal Nehru

University in New Delhi.

These books purchased for Pashto

department to facilitated students

learning Pashto language. The secretary

of India-Afghanistan Foundation (IAF)

Mr. Hamid Tahzeeb visited the JNU

Pashto department and hand over the

books to Pashto department
