    SAFE RESPONSIBLE RESPECTFUL

    Year 6 Camp

Last week Year 6 students spent a fabulous week at

Berry Sport & Recreation Camp, learning to face their

fears and to challenge themselves. I visited the camp

on Thursday and Friday and I was most impressed

with the behaviour and attitude of our students.

I witnessed lots of students and teachers having lots

    of fun .

A big thank you to both Mrs Cooper and Mr Fagan for

leaving their families and their own commitments for a

week, to be on duty 24 hours a day for 5 days (and no

overtime pay either !! ) Now that’s dedication for you!!

Parents will hear lots of recounts of events, as

students return with memories to last a lifetime.

    Well done everyone!

    State Hockey Representative!

Last newsletter we reported that Georgia Staines and

Makayla Jones were in the South Coast region PSSA

girls hockey team, competing at the NSW carnival in

Murwillumbah. Both Year 5 girls enjoyed the

    competition.

Congratulations to Makayla Jones who was selected

in the NSW team. She will now represent NSW in

Perth in August. We are very proud of you and know

that you are wonderful ambassadors for our school ,

district and region! Good luck Makayla!

  • School Visitors Policy

All visitors to the school are required and reminded to

sign in at the School Administration Office, prior to

undertaking any activity within the school. Visitors are

then asked to wear a “visitors label”, which must be

worn at all times while in the school.

Similarly, visitors are also required to “sign out” in the

Visitors Book when they are leaving the school.

This policy enables the school to provide, a safe and

secure learning environment for all student, staff,

    parents and resources.

    5 CENT DAY

Last Friday, the 7 of June, Wollondilly School held a

5 cent day. Students bought in any 5 cent coins they

had laying around at home. The money raised will

go towards purchasing new equipment for the

school. We had fun at assembly lining up coins and

measuring some of the lines. A big thank you to

Miss Tilley and Miss Dyer for organising the lines of

coins. Thankyou also to everyone for your most

    generous contributions.

SRC CAKE STALL FUNDRAISER FOR NEPAL

This Friday ( 12 June) the SRC is holding a cake

stall to raise money for the people of Nepal. As you

may know, there was a terrible earthquake there a

few weeks ago which left thousands dead, homeless

and injured. We hope to raise enough money to buy

a Shelter Box to send to Nepal.

A Shelter Box includes a tent, a small stove for

cooking, blankets and other items people need

when they lose everything. Mrs Woodbury has also

purchased wrist bands which will also be on sale on

Friday. The SRC will be holding another event (to be

announced) on the last day of term which will help

raise the money we need for the Shelter Box. You

can “Google” Shelter Box if you are interested to see

what a Shelter Box actually is. So, please bring

along some money this Friday to buy a cake and

a wrist band to help this very worthy cause.

Testimonials Lots of our students are enjoying the benefits of the

MultiLit literacy program. Parents and carers of

these children all agree that this program is really

    showing results.

“I endorse MultiLit! It is giving the students at

Wollondilly another chance to achieve their

    goals.”

MultiLit is brillant. The benefits the program

has for our students is obvious! They are

    making good progress.”

    Anonymous

If you are keen to learn about MultiLit and would

like to be trained, please let Mr Armstrong or Mrs

Cameron, know as we are always keen to extend

    this great program.

    Mr Steve Armstrong
