Introduction

Imaginebeingattheairportstandinginlinetogetontheplane.Thefamilyoffiveinfrontofyouarehappy.Themotherandtwodaughtersarewearingswimsuitsundertheirlongthindesignershirts.Thefatherandsonhavelongtank-topshirtson.Theyareallwearingflip-flopsandeachofthemisholdingasmallbagwhichholdstowelsandafewotheritemsforthebeach.Theyareallcleanandtheclothesarefresh.It’sobvioustheyareontheirwaytotheirdestination.

It’sJanuary,andforamomentyouletyourmindwonderandyoufeelrelaxedasyoupicturethefamilyinfrontofyouhavingsomuchfunonsomewarmandwonderfulbeachwherethewateriswarmandclear.Then,asthelinemovesforwardyouhearthepersoncheckingticketsspeakintothemicrophoneandyouhearexactlywhatyouhadexpectedthemtosay:“Nowboardingflight1153non-stoptobeautifyAnchorageAlaska!”

Justasyoumighthaveatendencytoasktheparentsiftheyaresuretheyknowwheretheyaregoingandiftheyhavethingsbettersuitedforthetrip,ItooamaskingyouandeveryoneIcantoconsiderwherewearegoingandifyouarepreparedforthejourney?Here’sthebigdifferencebetweenoursituationandthefamilyoffivementionedinthestoryabove;ThefamilyoffivecandecidewearingswimsuitsinAnchorageAlaskainJanuaryisnotagoodideaandtheycanchangeflights,canceltheirtripalltogether,oranynumberofdifferentoptions.Inoursituation,timeisourflight.Wearealreadyheadingintothefutureandtherearepropheticeventshappeningrightthisverysecondandmorecomingourway.

guiltandconsequences theyandtheir familywill face.Somanywillsuffer theguiltofknowingtheyhaveignoredthepropheticeventsandtheyhaveignoredessentialpreparations.Bynotbeingspirituallycenteredandprepareit’sverylikelytheguiltwilltearthemtopiecesastheywatchfamilymembersandlovedonesslowlyagonizetodeath.Althoughpropheticallyhardshipwillhappentotensofmillionsorhundredsofmillionsorperhapsbillionsofpeople.It’shardformetonotspeak-upandtrytohelpallthepeopleIcan.

Inessence,Iseesomanypeople,Christiansandnon-Christiansalike,whoaresymbolicallydressedinswimsuitsheadingtoAlaskainthewintertimewithlittlemorethanjustatowelintheirhand.Ijusthavetomentionwherewearegoingandgivesomesuggestions.Anynormalpersonisgoingtobeheartbrokenoverthesufferingwewillwitnessinthepropheticfuture.While,wecan’tforceanyonetoprepareandwecan’ttakecareofeveryone.Weneedtodoallwecantoprepareandpreparetotakecareofallwecan.

I know that there are extra blessings to be had aswe love and serveGod, learn about andknow thepropheticevents,andaswefollowthepromptingforproperpreparations.And,don’tweallwantextrablessingsinthiscrazytimewelivein?!

John and Daniel Saw a Succession of Eight Kings

“Christwillreturninpowerandglory,”LowellsaidwithasmileandavoiceofconfidencetoLandonandSarahastheysatoutsideincomfortablelawnchairsinthebackyardoftheirhome.Itwasoneofthosefallafternoonswithacoolgentlebreeze.Twobigtreesprovidedperfectshadeoverthepatiowithafirepitaroundwheretheysat.

Landonwas6’2”,slenderandwellbuilt.Hebarelyfitthelawnchairhewassittingin.Hisshortblondhairwasstillwetfromhisswiminthepool.Hesnappedbackquicklywithafriendlyyetsterntone.“You’vebeentellingmethatforyears!AndyouknowIdon’tbelieveinChrist.AmIsomespecialprojectyouaredeterminedtoconvert?”

LowellhadinstigatedtheconversationaboutChrist.Afewdaysearlier,Lowellhadaskedifhecouldmeetwiththemandafewoftheirfriends.HewantedtopresentaquickoverviewofthepropheticeventsofourdayingeneralorderleadinguptothereturnofChristinpowerandglory.Asyoumightimagine,Landonwasnotenthusiasticaboutthelecturetocome.However,Sarahlikedtoknowwhatothersthoughtaboutthesignsofthetimesandlovedtohangoutwithherfriends.

Even thoughLandon andLowell didn’t see eye to eye about Jesus, theywere verygood friends andLowellhadcaughtLandonatagoodmoment.Sarah’sinsistencethattheyhearwhatLowellhadtosaymadeitadonedeal.However,whenthemomenthadarrivedforLowelltotalkaboutpropheticevents,Landonslippedbackintohisgrouchymoodofwantingnothingtodowith“Christ”talk.

Sarahfinishedfillingsevencupswithfresh-squeezedlemonademadewithlemonsfromtheirtrees.Herfriends always looked forward to this special treat. Sarahwas 5’9” and had beautiful olive skin that

complementedherslenderbody.SheleanedovertowardLandonandgavehimakissonthecheekwhilepushingbackherlongblackhair.“YouusedtobelieveinChrist,”shesaid,tenderly.

LandonlookedintenselyintoSarah’sblueeyes.“Don’tgothere,Sarah.Youhaven’tbeentochurchinyears,myangel.”

JustthenAustinandLaceywalkedthroughtheslidingglassdoortothepatio.Austinwasagentlemanandopenedthedoorforhislovelywife,Lacey.Shewas5’4”andAsian-American.Herblackhairglistenedinthesunlight.At6’,Austinwasslightlyheavyset,butheworeitwell.Hesmiledandwavedtoallofhisfriends.

“Sarah,itsoundslikeyouneedtocometochurchthisSunday,”Austinsaidwithagrin.

“What’sthesermonthisSunday,Pastor?”SarahaskedAustin.

Austin looked around the beautiful backyard, which included two orange trees, a lemon tree, and agrapefruittree.Thebrightlycoloredflowersalongtheedgeoftheshortgreenturfgrasscaptivatedhisattention.“FaithinChrist,”Austinreplied.

“Nope!Gotit!I’mgood,”Sarahsaidpolitely.

LandonlookedatLaceyandsaid,“Lacey,Idon’tknowhowyouputupwithallofthepastor’sJesusstuff.”

LaceygaveLandonasillylookasshemussedhiswethair.LaceyandAustingreetedtheotherswithquickhugsandthensatdowninlawnchairs.Immediatelytheyreachedfortheircoldglassesoffreshlemonade.

BeforetakingasipLaceycommented,“Aren’tweauniquesetoffriends?”

“Yesweare,”SarahsaidasshegentlylacedherfingersthroughLacey’sforamoment.Twomorepeoplemadetheirwaytothebackyard,andLowellnoted,“AndweareevenmoreuniquenowthatJoseandMariaarehere.”

JoseandMaria,wholookedlikeshecouldhaveababyatanymoment,cameintothebackyardandwerewarmlywelcomedbyeveryone.

Mariawaddledover to thegroupwithonehandsteadyingherbelly.Herpetite,bloatedbodyshowedobviousdiscomfort.Herlongblackhairwasswayingandblowinginthegentlecoolbreeze.HerbeautifulbigSpanishbrowneyesrevealedthediscomfortshewasfeeling.Herlight-browncoloredskinradiatedinthesunlightasshewalkedovertotheothersinthecoolshade.

JosewalkedtothesideofMaria.Hestood5’9”andweighed190pounds.Hehadamuscle-rippedbodythatwasaverysharpcontrasttohiswife’sbloatedcondition.Jose’sdarkbrowneyesanddarkSpanishskincontrastedwarmly tohiswife’s.They looked likeaperfectlymatchedcoupleevenwithMaria’spregnantcondition.

AsMariasituatedherselfinalawnchair,Laceycameover,gentlyrubbedMaria’shugepregnantbellyandsaid,“Maria,whenareyouevergoingtohavethisbaby?Elijahright?”

“Yes,Elijah. Idon’tknowwhathe iswaitingfor. I’maweekoverdue.Theyaregoing to inducemetomorrow.Iamsodonewithbeingthishugeanduncomfortable.”Marialookedaroundandthenasked,

“Sarah,whereareyourkids?”

Sarahquicklyresponded,“Oh,theyareatGrandma’s.Wearepickingthemupafterourlittlevisithere.”

Lowelltookthecue.“Andbecauseofeveryone’sbusyschedule,webettergetstarted.”

“Goahead!Tortureme!Istillwon’tbelieve!”Landonsaid,closinghismindforwhatwastocome.

LowellshookhisheadatLandonandsmiled.“Thankyou,LandonandSarah,forallowingustomeethereatyourbeautifulhome.Andtoansweryourearlierquestion,Landon,youknoweveryoneherebutyoulovesJesus.Onedaywehopeyouwilltoo.Inthemeantime,wehaveafuturetoprepareforandthoseofuswhoareChristiansneedtolookahead.AlthoughyoudonotbelieveinChristyet,youhavegreatabilitiestohelpyourfamilyandothersinthedaysahead.Sothanksforhangingoutwithuswhilewetalkaboutthepropheticeventsofourday.”

LandonpolitelynoddedandthenLaceyspokeup,“Bytheway,IwatchedyourvideosonlineaboutthebookofDanielandthebookofRevelation.Theywereveryinformative.I’vebeentryingtogetthebusypastorheretotakealooktoo.”

Austinchimedin,“I’vebeenbusy.I’llgettoit.”

“BeingbusyisoneofthereasonsI’veaskedyoutomeettoday,”Lowellsaidandsmiledagain.“Iwantedtosharewithyouwhythisisourgoldenopportunity,anawesomemomentthatweasChristianshavebeenwaitingfor.”

“ThemomentwecanbebetterunitedinworkingwithChristtomakegreaterthingshappeninourownlives.Thisworksforabettersociety,economy,andgovernmentsowecanget throughthechallengescomingourway,”Lowellresponded.

“Ilikeitalready,”Austinrepliedwithanod.

“Justwhatweneed!”Sarahsaid.

Maria’ssoftvoicebroughtJosetoreachoverandcoverthehandshealreadyhadprotectivelyoverherbabyinherbelly.“I’vebeenconcernedforthefuturelately;mybaby’sfuture.Thingsarebadcomparedtowhenwewerechildren.”

Lowellusedtheremotetoturnonthelargeseventy-inchscreenTVthatwasperfectlypositionedinthebackyard.“IhopethisquickoverviewwillhelpyoutoseethereisabrightfutureforallChristiansandencourageyoutolearnaboutthepropheticeventsofourday.Thisisagreattimetobringlittleonesintotheworld.Let’sgetstartedandyou’llsoonseewhy.”

Landonrolledhiseyes.“Lowell,thereisnowayeveryoneisgoingtobecomeChristiansandalljustgetalonglikebuddy-buddies.It’snotgoingtohappen!”

“You’re100%right,Landon,”LowellsaidasheloadedupslidestoplayontheTV.“NoteveryoneisgoingtobelieveinChristanytimesoonandnoteveryoneisgoingtowanttobefriendly.IalsothinkpeoplelikeyouaregoingtobefriendliertobearoundthansomeoftheChristians.Ithinkwewouldallagreethemore

Lowellclickedtothefirstslide.“Yougotit,Jose.Wewantpeaceaswellasagoodsociety,economy,andgovernment.”

Lowellthenstoodup,walkedclosertotheTV,andturnedfacingeveryone.“O.K.Webegin!”LowellpointedtotheTV.“AsignificantbreakthroughwastheunderstandingofwhatJohnrecordedinthebookofRevelation.HesawasuccessionofeightkingsleadinguptothereturnofChristinpowerandglory.So, ifweareanywhereclose to thereturn of Christ in power and glory, one of these eightkingsisrulingtoday.”

Landontiltedhisheadtotherightasheaskedsarcastically,“Areyoutalkingaboutmeandmywife?”

“Andprobablyhundredsofmillionslikeyou,”Lowellsaidwhile changing to the next slide. “Let’s readwhat Johnwroteabouttheseeightkings.ThisisfromRevelation17,verses10and11.

“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, andoneis,andtheotherisnotyetcome;andwhenhecometh,hemustcontinueashortspace.And thebeastthatwas,andisnot,evenheistheeighth,andisoftheseven,andgoethintoperdition.”

JosesquintedhiseyesandquestionedLowell,“Heyman,howdoyouknowthesekingsleaduptoChrist’sreturn?”

“Fairquestion,Jose,”ThebestquickanswerisfoundinRevelation19:20whichsays,

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophetthat wrought miracles before him, with which he deceivedthemthathadreceived themarkof thebeast,and themthatworshippedhisimage.Thesebothwerecastaliveintoalakeoffireburningwithbrimstone.”

Lowellcontinued,“ThathappenswhenChristreturnsinpowerandglory.”

“O.K.,bro,justchecking,”Josesaidwithanod.

Lowellchanged theslideandsaid,“Anotherbreakthroughcame inunderstandingthattheprophetDanielalsosawasuccessionofmanykingsleadinguptothereturnofChristinpowerandgloryandalsowarsandconflicts.”

Lowellwatchedeveryone’sfacesinanticipationofthesurprisetheywouldhave in thenext slide“Within thegroupofmanykings thatDanielsaw,thereisasuccessionofeightkings.”Hechangedtheslide.

Everyonewaslookingateachother,eyesopenwide.Theirfacesheld the expression of surprise as they seemingly asked eachother,“AreyouseeingwhatI’mseeing?”

“Yep!” Lowell said smiling “They saw the same eight kingsleadinguptothereturnofChristinpowerandglory.”

Mariashruggedhershoulders.“Thatsendschillsdownmyspine!”

“WereJohnandDanielaliveatthesametime?”Sarahasked.

Lowell shook his head. “No, Daniel recorded his informationaboutsixhundredyearsbeforeJohnevenhadhisvision.”

“Wow!” Sarah responded. “Two prophets approximately sixcenturiesapart,actuallyseeingthesameeightkings.Thatmusthavebeenanimportantmessage.”

Lowellcontinued,“You’reright.ItwasandisaveryimportantmessageandDanielgaveusthemostdetailsaboutthefirstsevenkings.ThebookofRevelationgaveuskey informationmostlyaboutthesixthkingandtheeighthking.”

Austinleanedforward.“Letmeguess,youthinkit’sObamaright?”EveryonechuckledandthenAustincutLowellofffromanswering.“AlmosteveryweekIhavetolistentosomeonefrommycongregationsaysomethingaboutObamabeingtheanti-Christ.Itdrivesmecrazy!Ican’tget involved inpolitics! Sarahlookedconfused.“Thenwhoistheeighthking?”

Lowellsmiled.“Wehavenotdiscoveredwhotheeighthkingisyet.”

Maria sounded confused. “I thought…” Then her face lit up.

“I’llsaynumberfive,”Laceysaidwithalittleconfidenceinhervoice.

EveryonebutLandonnoddedtheirheads.“Yes.”

Mariabrokethemomentofsilence.“Don’tbeteasingapregnantwomannow,Lowell.Youcomecleanwithusrightnow!Whichkingisrulingtoday?”

EveryonesmiledatMariaandthenlookedatLowellandtheywaitedforhisresponse.Itdidn’ttakelong.

LowellpointedhisfingeratSarahandproclaimed,“You’reright,Sarah!Weareonthefourthking!Wealmosthavefourdownwithfourtogo!”

“That’sit?”Austinsaidindisappointment.“Man,IthoughtChristwouldbecomin’backrealsoon.HereI’vebeenpreachin’likeHe’scomin’backinthenextfewyears.Man,I’vegotsomeseriouseggonmyface!”

“I’msurprisedwearen’tontheeighthking,”Josesaidwithadisappointedtone.

“Man,areyousure,Lowell?”Austinsaidashewastryingtowraphisheadaroundthenews.

“Yes,Austin,Iamsure,”Lowellsaidwithanabsolutevoice.Thenhecontinued,“Andyoumayhaveeggonyourfacerightnowbut,youaregoingtolookawesomewhenyoupreachthetruthandtimeprovesyouright.”
