The Solemn Feast of Corpus Christi will be on Sunday, June 23rd. The 11:00am Mass and the 12:30pm Mass

will be conbined to 11:30am Mass. Procession around the neighborhood will take place after the 11:30am Bilingual Mass. Everyone is invited to participate to give greater glory to God.

Trinity Sunday 2019 Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Jerome,

Pax Christi semper vobiscum! Please remember to pray for our Confirmants who

were sealed by the Gifts of the Holy Spirit this weekend. Let us ask the Lord that they may remain conscious of their sacramental commitments as well as their call to discipleship. Let us pray also for their parents and godparents so that they may be ever zealous in showing this young people a lifestyle worthy of a Christian. I hope that what they have promised to God during the rite of Confirmation comes to fruition. Our parish has the responsibility to assist our fellow members to deepen their sacramental encounter with God. I wish that we perceive these sacramental events not simply as an ordinary Catholic event; rather, to perceive them as a conscious encounter with the Divine.

Please be aware that the Madonna Mission will be using our school building for a summer camp for children from June 24th through August 1st. Madonna Mission is a non-profit organization that caters to refugees who are in the process of transition and adjustment in the United States. There will be days during the camp weeks where our small parking lot behind the parish center building will be utilized by the children for an outdoor activity. Please plan on parking in the big parking lot on Morse and Paulina if you have meetings or other business at the Parish Center.

I strongly encourage everyone in the parish to join the Corpus Christi procession after the First Communion Mass next weekend. As we have announced over the last few weekends, the 11:00am Mass and the 12:30pm Mass will be celebrated as a combined liturgy at 11:30am next Sunday. The procession of Corpus Christi a great way to make a public affirmation of our faith. Processions such as this call the attention of our neighbors in very special way. Processions were initiated to honor God who is present in the Blessed Sacrament as a way to acclaim our Faith by being in solidarity with each other while chanting our prayers publicly along the streets of the neighborhood. Please be aware that our Corpus Christi procession must manifest the sublime dignity of the Holy Eucharist as we scatter petals of flowers on the street where the Blessed Sacrament passes by. This act of devotion is more appropriate to be executed by our children who will receive Communion for the first time. However, I would like to extend the invitation to the entire community to emphasize the significance of this very important act of piety during the procession in honor of the Holy Eucharist.

In addition, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated this year on the last Friday of June. I am aware that there is quite a good number of our parishioners who have a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Please note the following information regarding our communal preparation for the Feast: • We will have the Triduum of preparation in honor of

¡Pax Christi semper vobiscum! Por favor recuerde orar por nuestros confirmandos que

fueron sellados por los dones del Espíritu Santo este fin de semana. Pidamos al Señor que permanezcan conscientes de sus compromisos sacramentales, así como de su llamado al discipulado. Oremos también por sus padres y padrinos para que puedan mostrarles a estos jóvenes un estilo de vida digno de un cristiano. Espero que lo que han prometido a Dios durante el rito de la Confirmación llegue a buen término. Nuestra parroquia tiene la responsabilidad de ayudar a nuestros feligreses a profundizar su encuentro sacramental con Dios. Deseo que percibamos estos eventos sacramentales no simplemente como eventos católicos ordinarios; más bien, percibirlos como encuentros consciente con lo Divino.

Tenga en cuenta que la Misión Madonna utilizará nuestro edificio escolar para un campamento de verano para niños desde el 24 de junio hasta el 1 de agosto. En cambio, nuestro Triduo Sagrado en honor al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús nos brindará la oportunidad de orar por las vocaciones santas mientras nos preparamos para la Fiesta del Sagrado Corazón. Uniremos nuestras oraciones juntas durante el Triduo en preparación para la Misa Solemne Bilingüe a las 6:30pm el viernes 28 de junio. No habrá misa matutina ese día para que podamos combinar nuestras comunidades de habla inglesa y española durante la misa vespertina. Finalmente, Feliz Día de los Padres a todos los

hombres en nuestra comunidad que hayan proporcionado conscientemente la paternidad a sus hijos, confiándolos a Dios. the Sacred Heart before the Solemnity on Friday, June 28th. This said, our usual evening adoration at the Chapel of Notre Dame will be moved to the upper church. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for our personal and communal adoration beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, June 25th, for three hours. I would like to ask our Liturgical Ministers to please commit an hour of your time during the Triduum to keep watch over the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I am aware that it is also during this week that the Charismatic Prayer Group will be holding an entire week of Bible study. Perhaps, it would be a good opportunity for those who are coming to this event to stop in the church for Benediction at 9:00pm during the Triduum.

• Since the 4th of July falls on Thursday this year, we will not have our usual first Thursday Adoration for Vocations next month. Instead our Sacred Triduum in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will provide us with an opportunity to pray for holy vocations as we also prepare for the Feast of the Sacred Heart. We will unite our prayers together during the Triduum in preparation for the Bilingual Solemn Mass at 6:30pm Friday, June 28th. There will be no morning Mass on that day so that we can combine both our English- and Spanish-speaking communities during the evening Mass. Finally, Happy Fathers’ Day to all men in our

community who have consciously provided fatherhood to your children, having entrusted to them to God. Like Saint Joseph who is a role model of sacrificial fatherhood, I desire that you may imitate his virtues in fulfilling your role as fathers to your children. Be assured of my prayers.
