~~~ Oui Cater served luncheon of tossed salad, grilled

vegetables, country chicken, kale mushroom lasagne with

alfredo sauce, and brownies for dessert. ~~~ 4 Yums (Yum

scale is from 0 to 5, with 5 being excellent.)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Prez Lynda welcomed back Bill Hawn and

Jerry Campbell, who have been gone for awhile.

• Prez Lynda reminded us of her debunking,

organized by John Hazlett, this Friday, June 30, 6 PM,

at the Stanley’s home. It will have a Safari theme.

• RYLA Awards took place June 20, at 12:30, at Westminster Woods Camp where we

helped serve lunch.

• Mark your calendar for July 4, when our club

is sponsoring the Concert on the Plaza. Bring a

potluck dish.

• Also on the 4th, is the Sunrise Club’s popular Duck Dash, announced by George

Lawson, 10:30 - 1:30. Let’s show our support!!!

• Prez Lynda announced the upcoming Prune Packers game to be held Thursday, July 13

at 6 PM, preceded by a 4:30 get-together at Rich Bottarini’s home.

• July 30 is the day for our sponsorship of the Rotary Cares project,“Carnival, a Day of

Fun & Games.” It will be at the Foss Creek Community Center from 1:30 to 4:30.

• Ted Calvert told us about The Healdsburg Literary

Guild’s event, August 10, 2:00 - 4:00, at the Shed.

• Ted Calvert also announced that he is leaving us for

the Sunrise Club. Say it ain’t so, Ted!!!

• Prez Lynda announced we are dark on July 3 for the

holiday so our next meeting will be July 10, with new President Kate presiding.

RECOGNITION

• Prez Lynda recognized Dan Chapin, for his

leadership role in the Healdsburg High’s culinary program,

which turned out to be a semester-long project. His

company, Left Coast Marketing, sponsored the program.

• Jim Westfall was recognized for spending a month in

Spain hiking 300 miles - $300 to his Paul Harris.

• Joe DiSalvo celebrated his 41st Wedding Anniversary

in Hawaii- $50 to his Paul Harris.

• Grady Wann took a family vacation in Hawaii - $25,

contributed to his Paul Harris

• Jean Herschede attended the Rotary Convention in

Atlanta, and also went to a Blue Grass Festival with her

husband - $25 contributed to her Paul Harris

• Max Dunn celebrated a granddaughter getting

married, with a great-granddaughter in the ceremony - $50 to

his Paul Harris

• Prez Lynda recognized Debbie Mason for her work on the Wine, Women, and Shoes

fundraiser where Kellie Larson received a prize for her shoes!

• RAFFLE: Gary Anderson won today’s raffle,

but did not draw the winning marble. He did

receive a lovely bottle of Bertapelle wine.

PROGRAM

Today’s program was President Lynda’s “Swan Song. She gave us a recap of her year,

complete with LOTS of recognition!!!

* NEW MEMBERS - We added 7 new members this year, to bring our total to 75!

* COMMUNITY SERVICE, Chair, Grady Wann - We did 16 projects. Some

highlights were St Paul’s Shower Ministry ($5000), Rotary Cares ($2000), and Prune

Packers Sponsorship ($1500.)

* EDUCATION FUND, Chair, Henk Peeters - We gave $33.8 K in scholarships, as

well as $11 K in grants.

* GOLF TOURNAMENT, Chair, John Torres - We raised over $10 K, with $5 K

going to the My Body is Healthy program.

* INTERNATIONAL, Chair, Jean Herschede - There were numerous programs

focusing on the main areas of Education, Medical, and Shoes that Grow.

* FOUNDATION, Chair, Mike Potmesil - Our Club achieved a 93% contribution rate

to the Foundation! We also raised $10,880 for Polio Plus, with our Green Hair Day

parade, thanks to Richard Norgrove and Lynda Guthrie.

* CLUB SERVICES, Chair, Party-Girl Pat Williams - We enjoyed a plethora of

parties and social events, and never had more fun!

* COMMUNICATIONS, Chair, Mel Schatz - It was a team effort, recognized by Prez

Lynda, starting with the VOV Team: George Heath, Rick Tang, and Kate Buchanan.

Serving as Web Masters were Dick Bertapelle and Al Loebel, with Dan Chapin on

Graphics.

* PROGRAMS, Speakers were organized by Barbara Rosen, assisted by Kellie

Larsen. Kate Buchanan organized our monthly Craft Talks, with Al Loebel as “Tech

Guy” and Sergeant-at -Arms.

* EXECUTIVE TEAM - Max Dunn, with 22 years as Secretary, Gary Anderson and

Brad Pender as Co-Treasurers, and John Hazlett and John Avakian (aka, the 2 Johns)

as Past-Presidents.

Lastly, Prez Lynda presented President-Elect Kate

Buchanan with her Rotary President Pin, which made

her cry…

…and let her ring the bell, which she did with gusto!

CLOSING: Prez Lynda thanked visitors and guests for coming.
