an open water swimming club

formed in September.

Th e club has evolved over at least

fi ve years to the stage where the

informal group felt it was time to

be more unifi ed, and to organise

and promote safe open water

swimming, without restriction on

our activities.

We have at least 100 supporters

so far and invite everyone to

join us for a splash in the lake at

Roy's Bay, Stoney Creek end by

the swimming buoys on Monday

SPARC RURAL TRAVEL FUND OPENS FOR 2011/2012

The Rural Travel Fund offers funding to sports clubs and school teams in the Queenstown Lakes District to enable them to participate in regular, local sport competitions on weekends. This excludes inter-school and intra-school competition played during school hours.

15/10/2011 Police dealt with a collision, when a vehicle colided with a sheep on State Highway 6.

16/10/2011 Police dealt with an incident involving a van full of local 16 year olds on Rata Street. One occupant has been reported to Youth Aid for disorderly behaviour and another for unlawfully interfering with a motor vehicle.

18/10/2011 Occupants of a unit at Edgewater Resort reported the burglary of their unit. Stolen was a laptop and cash.
