WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27 Join UD voice faculty member Marie Hadley Robinson and student Augustine Mercante in a celebration of African-American History Month, with a program of traditional spirituals as well as contemporary music by African-American composers. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6 Triolet, an energetic chamber ensemble composed of UD music students Sarah Gerk, Lauren Robinson and Elaina Denney, will perform diverse works for this unusual instrument combination of clarinet, horn and piano. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13 “Different Stages: A Musical Montage of Broadway’s Finest” will be presented by Tina Sheing, Audience Services Manager, Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP). WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20 Flautet, a quartet of Delaware’s most amazing flutists, will perform a delightful concert of music to lift your spirits. Flutists are Adrienne Harding, Rebecca Haas, Heather Hughes and Rachel Thompson, who perform with personality and virtuosity. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10 The Trio Accordo will perform the “Trio in C Major, Opus 87” by Johannes Brahms. This dynamic group of international concert artists is made up of Department of Music faculty. Join us for this presentation of one of Brahms’ most resplendent chamber works. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17 The University of Delaware Recorder Consort will present Renaissance, Baroque and modern music for recorders. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24 Students from the Department of Music will perform opera arias and duets prepared in a semester-long master class that included coaching with nationally known stage directors, conductors and theatre professionals. WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 Music for Many Horns! will echo through Bayard Sharp Hall when members of the horn studio, under the direction of Prof. Cynthia Carr, present music from the Baroque through the modern era for horn ensemble and horn with organ. WEDNESDAY, MAY 8 A performance of a Benjamin Britten masterpiece, his rarely heard Canticle II: Abraham and Isaac, by Philip Doucette Augustine Mercante. WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 The annual Festival of Students will feature instrumental and vocal students from the Department of Music performing in the final offering in the spring Bach’s Lunch series.
