e On Looking Ahead . . .
We find ourselves entering a month that celebrates our unique form of government called a representative republic. We are also locked in an election ritual where even the best of friends, married couples, and others find them-selves in conflict over the ones we would like to see in our powerful, political positions, and who will have power enough to affect our lives for the next four to eight years.
To all who find themselves caught up in the politics of the day, I refer you to our theme for the month of July, namely: “I am free to accept God’s emancipation from all conflict and discord of every nature.”
Let us move forward in our dealings with one another as God-emancipated, free, children of the Most High God who has promised to be with us forever. This God is One who reigns supreme within each one of us, residing in the “secret place of the Most High,” deep within our own hearts. We are extremely blessed and prospered in all things. As children of God we have the power to affect our relationships, our finances, our jobs (creative expression), and even our health.
We in this church experience have a built in process that guarantees our success in all the areas mentioned above. We have a discussion group that is growing every week into an effective tool to discover who and what we are and exactly what we are capable of doing with the God-given Life that is ours. We have trained professional practitioners who will freely give of their time to pray with and for you and all you need do is fill out the request form and place it in the prayer chest in the lobby and you will find the assistance you need to overcome your specific situation, circumstance, or problem. These individuals will also work with you after church on Sundays, and finally, we have the ability to provide the class work in a structured way for you to “Live fully, Love Wastefully, and Become All God and You have intended you to become.” All the tools are here for you to use and to take advantage of starting right now. So choose to become all you were ever meant to be, take up the programs that will serve you best and see what it feels like to be truly free and totally involved in celebrating your emancipation in all areas of life.
I am here to serve your needs. I am willing to do just that, so please avail yourself of all the opportunities we have now and feel free to discuss the possibilities of other opportunities that we can fit in throughout the years to come.
After a spellbinding vacation through the mountains of our magnificent country, I trust we will all begin to celebrate in our own patriotic way this month, remain calm in our differences, secure in God’s Love, and continue to shine forth the Light of our God-ordained Divine Nature in every word, thought, and deed. May we all stay centered in God’s Love as we sail our great “Ship of State” into the uncharted, often turbulent waters of our beloved and divinely ordained republic.

Today I write this article with
a bit of a heavy heart for the
loss of Tracy Walker, one of
our dear choir members. Tracy
and her partner of twenty two
years, Francis came to the
church and plowed right into
the philosophy to become all
they could be. They seamlessly
wove themselves so gently into
the Untied Life Spiritual
Family. It was like they had
always been there.
Tracy always came to the choir
with a smile on her face and a
song in her heart. She was
always present with a listening
ear for new and better songs
we could sing. She would get on
the computer and find as many
parts of it as she could. She
brought us the song “Let There
Be Love” that the choir
performed for Mother’s Day.
She will definitely be missed.
So grateful am I for all the
members of the choir who
continue to bring forth their
love and talent. They continue
to bless me and bless the
center.
We have been trying new music
and musical ideas. If you have
any feedback please feel free
to let me know. We are here to
serve all of you all of you. It is
ours to open your heart a little
wider that you may experience
spirit in a deeper and more
sacred way.
Thanks as always for
supporting us spiritually and
financially. We are blessed.

WE MOVE FROM GLORY TO GLORY AS OUR 5 UNDERSTANDING INCREASES.
Dear Friends,
We had a very positive Leadership Council meeting on June 12th. Discussion was held on how to upgrade our kitchen and bathroom facilities so that we can invite new people to share our experience in our
wonderful church community.
We said goodbye to Anna Otto, who resigned as one of our members; she will be greatly missed and we send our love and best wishes to her.
We send our love and heart felt sympathy to Francis and all of Tracy Walker’s family and friends. Tracy departed this life on June 27th; Tracy did so much to help our community and our church; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
What else can I say, your Leadership Council wants to hear from you. All of our phone numbers are included here in the Messenger for your convenience in contacting us. You are the Life in our United Life Center; what can we do to get you to come and celebrate life with us on Sundays? We want and need your advice, you input and your ideas. How can we grow? Please take the time to share with anyone on our Leadership Council.
And “thanks” for all that you do to make our United Life Center the wonderful church that it is.

e Who was Joseph Murphy?
Meet July’s Messenger “Founding Author”
Joseph Murphy was a Divine Science minister and author.
Murphy was born in Ireland, the son of a private boy’s school headmaster and raised a Roman Catholic. He studied for the priesthood and Joined the Jesuits. In his twenties,
an experience with healing prayer led him to leave the Jesuits and move to the United States, where he became a pharmacist in New York (having a degree in chemistry by that time). Here he attended the Church of the Healing Christ (part of the Church of Divine Science), where Emmet Fox had become minister in 1931. In the mid 1940’s, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, and was ordained into Religious Science by Holmes in 1946, thereafter teaching at the Institute of Religious Science. A meeting with Diving Science Association president Erwin Gregg led him to being re ordained into Divine Science, and he became the minister of the Los Angeles Diving Science Church in 1949, which he built into one of the largest New Thought congregations in the country. In the next decade, Murphy married, earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and started writing. After his first wife died in 1976, he remarried to a fellow Diving Science minister who was his longstanding secretary. He moved his long standing ministry to Laguna Hills, California. He died in 1981. His wife, Dr. Jean Murphy, continued in this ministry for some years afterwards.

A Spiritual Philosophy for the New World

In 1988 a group of people from around the world participated in an experiment in consciousness for a
two-month period. This book reveals how that experiment turned into a lifetime commitment, as the
experience of living "in another dimension of mind" profoundly affected their lives.
Are you seeking enlightenment and direction for the next step? Do you need a confirmation of what
you have already been contemplating? If you are wondering about your spiritual life and asking,
"What's the point? Why am I here? God where are You? or What's next for me?" you will probably
benefit from reading Price's straight-forward talk. It is well written and easy to read. Not "religious"
but he brings you to You/Self/YourSelf/HigherSelf in a way that reminds me of Ernest Holmes’
writing technique. He basically says to unfetter your life, meditate deeply and explore the letting go of
everything and giving thanks for the same everything as well as what comes after. He proposes a sixty
day program of letting go of our Human side and embracing our Light side. Under ideal circumstances
this is quite workable. But, as with all of human endeavors, there are many varying ways of ‘getting
there’. While I have a long ways to go, spending a few years writing a five book metaphysical series of
stories which involve God, Heaven, Angels and a lot of fun, opened me to something about my higher
self. My Real Self, that is. Realizing in the doing much of what Price presents.
John Randolph Price is an internationally known award-winning author and lecturer. Formerly a CEO
in the corporate world, he has devoted 25+ years to researching the mysteries of ancient wisdom and
incorporating those findings in the writing of many books. In 1981, he and his wife formed The
Quartus Foundation, a spiritual research and communications organization now headquartered in the
Texas Hill Country town of Boerne, near San Antonio. You can find them at http://www.quartus.org/
The Quartus Foundation comes together on December 31st of each year for this spiritual event. It is
called World Healing Day, the World Instant of Cooperation, World Peace Day- a moment of Oneness
to dissolve the sense of separation and return human kind to Godkind. We observe this modern
tradition at United Life.

PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION “DYING TO THE LESSER and BORN TO THE GREATER”

4. Crucifixion – In this process of enlightenment we all go through our own crucifixions. Dying to the false beliefs, false ideas, to the lesser self, or anything that does not serve and lift us to a higher consciousness. Donald Curtis calls this crossing out of cancelling out the small self. Letting go of fear, hatred, frustration, lack and limitations; giving up the lesser, poorer things in life; aligning ourselves with the vertical upright of the cross, moving into the flow of Spirit, and the flow of light and truth of the Infinite. Getting into the flow of the good and the beauty of life.
5. Resurrection – Becoming alive again with new life. Ernest Holmes says, “The resurrection is the death of belief that we are separated from God.” (SMT pg. 413) And like it is in nature in the spring, awaking to a new life. Leaving the dark of winter behind and going into the light of Spring and Summer, living our eternal life now. “Beloved now are we (you) the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we (you) shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2) The kingdom of heaven is now. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all things will be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:33) “The Kingdom of God does not come by observation. Neither will they say, behold, it is here! or, behold, it is there! for behold, Kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20, 21) Ernest Holmes says, “The Kingdom of God is within you. When we become conscious of our Oneness with the Universal Good, beliefs in evil, sin, sickness limitation, and death tend to disappear.” (SMT pr. 150, 4)
We go through these steps many times in our life. Giving up the ideas and ways of life that keep us from living the good life. Each time we are transformed we experience more of the Christ consciousness.
The message of Transformation is to arise to a new life. Know who you are, what you are, why you are here, and where you are going. Who am I? I am a divine expression of God. What am I? I am a spiritual being having a human experience. Why am I here? I am here to express God to the fullest. Where am I going? I am on a journey from God to God in God. As Maurice Nicoll in his book “The New Man” tells us in so many words that each one of us taking off the old man of person and putting on the new man or person through enlightenment. Now is the time to express God.
