Psalm 23:1–2 (KJV) 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still

waters.

3 He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s

sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the

shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and

thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine

enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth

over.

Psalm 23:6 (KJV)

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all

the days of my life:

Psalm 23:6 (KJV)

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

forever.

…thou shall not murder, thou

shall not steal, thou shall not

commit adultery, thou

shall not lie, thou shall not

covet thy neighbors wife…

1 Samuel 17:47 (NIV)

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Psalm 51:1 (NIV) 1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing

love; according to your great compassion blot out my

transgressions.

Psalm 51:2–3 (NIV) 2 Wash away all my iniquity

and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before

me.

Psalm 51:4 (NIV) 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified

when you judge.

Psalm 51:5–6 (NIV) 5 Surely I was sinful at birth,

sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Yet you

desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom

in that secret place.

Psalm 51:10–11 (NIV) 10 Create in me a pure heart,

O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast

me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Psalm 51:12 (NIV) 12 Restore to me the joy of

your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain

meyou.

Psalm 51:13 (NIV) 13 Then I will teach transgressors

your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.

:

Can you have grace towards others sin in such a way that you can read Psalm 23 and realize it was written by an

adulterous murderer?

Can you receive deep spiritual truth and comfort from Psalm 51 which was written by a murderous

adulterer named David and so you can own and repent

of your own sin?

Romans 3:23 “for all have

sinned and fall short of the

glory of God”

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this

treasure in jars of clay to show that

this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
