Mike Ivanitsky Award For Excellence In Photography

DESCRIPTION: All students with a passion for photography, and who have taken at least one 3 credit class in photography during 2008-2009 academic year, are encouraged to participate in The Mike Ivanitsky Award for Excellence in Photography competition, The award will be granted each year to one student whose portfolio of work in photography is deemed to be an outstanding expression of a personal vision presented with superior technical competence.. The winner will be honored at the Division Awards Ceremony in June 2009 and be featured in an exhibition on campus set for May 2009. The committee may also choose other portfolios for honorable mention and that work will also be included in the exhibition. ELIGILIBILITY: It is open to any current Foothill student who submits a portfolio and has taken at least one three-unit photography class at Foothill.

SELECTION: The $400 award will be granted to the portfolio chosen by a selection committee of students and community members. The winning portfolio will be exhibited in the Photography Building Gallery. REQUIREMENTS: • Portfolio with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 works of art in a photographic medium. • Artist Statement - maximum of 1 page (must include artist’s name, address, phone number and email address). DEADLINE: Portfolios must be submitted to the Fine Arts and Communication Office, Room 1701 by 4PM April 17, 2009.
