Bring your cards on August 14, and place them in the basket at the Welcome Center. We will present the cards to Bro. Dean at the end of the service. Bro. Dean will spend his first few months here just getting to know our people. He will walk alongside Bro. Jim as he observes our church and its ministries. He will assume more teaching duties in the months to come. He will also preach when Bro. Jim is away. We are excited that Bro. Dean will be taking over the pastoral ministry duties. If you have a need or an illness, please let him know.

A WORD FROM. . . OUR PASTOR

These are exciting days here at LaBelle. God is blessing our church in ways we cannot imagine. As I look back these past 6 years it is amazing how we can see God’s hand in all that has taken place. Here are some of those miracles that come to mind:

Lawanda and I “retired” and moved back to Olive Branch. I was asked to fill in and preach at LaBelle until they closed

the doors. God provided us with 53 acres of land at Church Road and

Highway 305. God brought us a church (New Life in Christ) to purchase

our old building for cash. We were allowed to rent our old building until our new

building in Olive Branch was built. Our new building was built in one year, we moved in July 6,

2014. We sold 11 acres of our land for $372,855. Our Sunday School has grown from 50 to a high of 426,

and worship has grown from 60 to a high of 984. The choir has grown from 14 to an enrollment of over 120. We began an orchestra. We began a Mother’s Day Out and Pre-K Ministry with an

enrollment today of 93 children. Our budget has grown from $240,000 in 2010 to over

$1 million in 2015. In the past 6 years God has added 764 people to our

church, and we have seen 116 people saved.

Well God is doing it again! Sweetpea’s Restaurant made an offer to purchase 8 acres of our land (4 now and 4 more within 2 years). Their offer was $40,000 per acre. We voted to accept their offer. Now we will have one of Olive Branch’s top restau-rants right next door, and they are allowing us to use their drive as a second exit from our parking lot on Sundays. We are truly blessed. I can hardly wait to see what the next year will bring.

FROM REV. PHIL ANDERSON, MIN. OF EDUCATION & ADMINISTRATION

Tickets are on sale on Wednesday Evenings and Sunday Mornings. Don’t miss this awesome opportunity!!

Financial Peace Study this Fall

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a plan that teaches God’s ways of managing money. According to a poll conducted by CNN, money is the greatest cause of stress around the world. Another study shows that financial/money problems is one of the greatest reasons for divorce in the U.S. The truth concerning money is that many people, Christians included, are one paycheck away from financial ruin. That’s the bad news, but the good news is that it does not have to be that way. We all need a plan for our money. The Bible contains more than 800 verses that offer instructions on the proper management of money. LaBelle is offering an opportunity for you to stop the debt cycle and discover the wonderful peace of financial freedom. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! This 9 week class will begin on Wednesday night, September 7th, 6:00 - 7:30, and will meet in Room 110. The cost is $100 per couple/individual for 1 set of materials. Space is limited so register quickly. Registration can be found on the table by the office entrance. Also, If you need child-care, please let Bro. Phil know ASAP. Get the peace you deserve!

Music Ministry

By: Rev. Ken Washburn, Min. of Music & Sr. Adults

Believe it or not it’s time once again to begin preparations for our Christmas presen-tation which will be held December 18th.

This year’s presentation will include choir, orchestra, drama and narration so there’s something for everyone. Now would be a perfect time to join us. We are looking for people who love singing and enjoy great fellowship. This would also be a great opportunity to invite guests who may not be involved in another choir program. We invite you to come give us a try Wednesday Evenings at 7:30 pm. Our next PRIMETIMER’S fellowship will be Thursday, August 25th at 11:30. We are asking that you bring side dishes and desserts. The church will provide the fried and baked chicken. Please join us and invite guests for this great time of fellowship.

LaBelle Seeking Part-Time Housekeeper

The custodial needs of our church have grown to the point where we need to hire a part-time housekeeper. We are seeking a lady to work from 1-6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning all the restrooms, the office area, dusting and cleaning the preschool wing. The pay is $10 per hour. If you know of someone who would do a good job at cleaning, please have them contact Ken Washburn at (662) 893-2273 to get more information.
