The same is true for the disciples when they see Jesus transfigured. This experience gives them an insight into the very nature of Christ’s divinity. They want to hold onto it, but Jesus knows the path he is about to take. Conscious of this, Jesus allows the disciples an experience which will remind them of the goodness of God when faced with utter desolation. This moment of grace is what St. Ignatius calls, ‘consolation’. The disciples will need to remember this experience when they see Jesus not transfigured on the mountain but decimated on the Cross. As we pray this week, let us reflect upon and remember the moments of grace we have experienced in life and give thanks for their capacity to see us through the difficult times. RECONCILIATION LITURGIES Bishop Declan will celebrate Liturgies of Reconciliation during the Season of Lent at five venues across the diocese. He is once again inviting our diocesan community to gather with him in celebration of God's merciful love as part of our Lenten journey and this Year of Prayer. There will be priests available at each venue to celebrate Sacramental Reconciliation. Each Liturgy will start at 7pm Thursday 21 March - St Osmund’s, Salisbury Thursday 28 March - St Gregory, Cheltenham Thursday 4 April - Holy Family, Swindon Thursday 11 April - St George, Taunton THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OF CHRIST THE KING THE PRESBYTERY, 4 LORDS CROFT, AMESBURY, WILTS., SP47EP

YEAR OF PRAYER

Anyone who has climbed any sort of mountain knows the joy which can come when encountering the view at the top. The same is true for the disciples when they see Jesus transfigured.
