Induction water control valves rebuilt in room 428 and 503 in (SMC).

Ice machine repair & air bleed installed on air handler #8 (Haslam).

Two air handler water control valves rebuilt in Bailey.

General maintenance ( lights, belts, toilets, etc.).

Zone 6:

Maintaining environmental equipment.

Addressing work orders.

Hesler, DI maintenance.

Alumni Memorial Medal of Honor Ceremony set up.

Zone 8:

Middlebrook Pike Building paint project is complete. This project made a big difference in the appearance of the building.

At the University Avenue Buildings designers are working on drawings to get the buildings ready for their new tenants.

Morgan Hall is getting the roof renovated. That will allow us to make needed repairs on its interior.

Plant BioTech stairwells are getting some attention. We are ordering tile to replace the existing vinyl flooring.

We will be working on our outside lighting over the next week. Exterior lighting is a very important part of our job.

Our New Facilities Building is taking shape the contractor is moving at a good pace. Most of the out-side demo work is complete. They are making pro-gress inside as well.

Zone 9:

Assisting contractors in C.B. T.

Cleaning strainers in air handlers throughout the zone.

Changing filters.

Reordering uniforms

General maintenance.

Zone 11:

Working on stadium after last ball game.

Repairing lights in the indoor football facility.

Getting softball, soccer, and tennis ready for next weekend.

Assist Construction Services with network ports.

Setting up computers for Berry Hall.

Exporting data for new Building Access System.

Computer setup, printer troubleshooting.

Planning continues for the Supervisor’s Toolkit Con-ference scheduled for November 3-7.

Construction Services and Steam Plant career ladders are going through the approval process.

We are accepting applications for the vacant Training Specialist position. Please apply through the univer-sity’s website.

Chuck Thompson Award nominations are now being accepted. Nomination forms have been emailed to all employees. Hard copies can be found with Unit Clerks, in the Associate Vice Chancellor’s office, and with Brooke in Facilities Room 203.

You may also submit award nominations online at tiny.utk.edu/ChuckThompson. The deadline to sub-mit nominations is 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 8. The award ceremony will be held in late October.

We are adding additional information to our depart-ment’s SACS accreditation documents.

The reformatting and editing of departmental policies continues.

Work continues on the Facilitator. The bi-monthly newsletter will be distributed the last week of Sep-tember.

The first new boiler has arrived and is setting in place at the Steam Plant. The contractor has a lot of work hooking everything up.

The contractors will be working 4 x 10 hour shifts and 2 x 8 hour shifts to get the boiler ready to produce steam before Thanksgiving.

We produced 1,449,196 pounds of steam Sept. 10 and had 73,594 gallons of make-up water.

In the process of building up our coal stockpile for win-ter heating season and this will be the last winter sea-son we burn coal.
