Gentlemen,

I have great pleasure in presenting the 61st Annual Report and the accounts for the year ended 31st March 2019. The copy of the

accounts has been circulated to you and I trust you have gone through them. I therefore present the annual report.

1.The annual general body meeting of our association was held on 23.05.2018 and the following office bearers for the year 2018 –

2. JSW-SDCA LEAGUE

• The JSW - SDCA league for the year 2018-19 was started on 2nd September 2018 and is in progress with 198 League

Matches and I Division Play-off is completed. I Division Finals is scheduled for 26th May 2019.

• The matches were held at Neelambal Subramaniam HSS, Steels Recreation Club Ground, Government Engineering

College “A” Ground, Periyar University “A” & “B” Grounds, & Montforts School Ground.

• At this juncture, We appreciate and applaud the efforts of the League Sub Committee convened by our Joint Secretary,

Shri. M.Raju, its Chairman Shri. R.Kannan (Salem Kings CC) and its members Shri. D.Nilesh Lakhani (Vampire CC),

Shri. M.V.Rajkumar (Thrive Chevrolet CC) and Shri. N.Rathnagiri (Prime CC).

3.TNCA TOUNRMANENTS PERFORMANCES

SDCA teams participated in Under-23, Under-19, Under-16 and Under-14 categories in different Inter-districts tournaments

conducted by the Tamilnadu Cricket Association. 2018-19 proved to be most successful, as our U14, U19 & U23 teams reached

the finals in their respective categories.

6. COACHES

• Shri S Chandramouli & Shri. D.S.Santhosh Kumar TNCA accredited coaches, were nominated as the coaches for

the TNCA Summer Coaching Camp for the Dindigul & Tirupur Districts respectively.

7. UMPIRES COMMITTEE

• Salem DCA hosted a Full Day SDCA Umpires Seminar with practicals at Salem Steel Plant ground with 19 SDCA

Umpires participating. Shri.U.Jayaraman (Chairman) and Shri.K.Muthu (Convener) of the SDCA Umpires

committee were the facilitators.

• This year Umpires Committee had been outstanding and the efforts they had taken to develop umpiring has been

remarkable. The committee created a pool of 54 active umpires and conducted Nine Umpires Training Meetings

during 2018-19. Umpires were posted for 324 Matches which included 199 League Matches, Other District League

Matches, T20 Tournament , Institutional and Junior Tournaments.

• SDCA thanks and appreciates the Umpires Committee consisting of its Convener Shri.K.Muthu, Chairman

Shri.U.Jayaraman, Members Shri. T.Ravikumar & Shri.P.Kanagaraj for their excellent and outstanding efforts in

developing as well as organizing umpires for the league matches.

8. SCORERS COMMITTEE

• This year Scorer’s Committee did a stupendous job by conducting regular coaching for the prospective scorers, as we

have introduced official scorers this year for the I,II& III division league matches.

• We appreciate the service of the Scorers Committee Chairman Shri.B.M.Uvarajee and its members Shri.V.Mariappan

and Shri.V.Manikandan.

9. PR COMMITTEE

• Our special and sincere appreciations to the Salem DCA PR Committee headed by our vice president Sri.Selvamaligai S

Manikam (Vice President) and Shri U Jayarman, Shri K Muthu & Shri.N.Gopi Balakrishnan as its members.

• The Public Relation Committee has done a wonderful work in getting the news and achievements of SDCA and its players

in all Visual and Paper Media.

• We appreciate the committee for its outstanding contribution in organizing and getting the achievements and events

published regularly which has created an enormous impact among the people of Salem about our association.

District Cricket Association website www.salemdca.com is updated regularly with all league news, point’s tables, fixtures,

cricketing news, umpires corner, address books and other relevant information.

11. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

Our special appreciations to the Salem DCA Tournament Committee for their wonderful work in extending hospitality to the visiting

teams and officials. We applaud the efforts of the chairman of the committee Shri. S.Sakthivel and the members Shri L Arunkumar

and Shri S Kalaiarasan. With their stupendous support we were able to host the following matches successfully,

12. NETS COMMITTEE

• The Nets Committee headed by Shri M.Raju with Shri.G.L.Shankar Lal, Shri.P.Kuppusamy and Shri.D.Sudarsan as its

members gave their fullest contributions in maintaining and development of the grounds and Nets. Our sincere thanks and

appreciations to that team.

13. GROUNDS COMMITTEE

• The Grounds Committee with Shri R.Devendiran as its Chairman and Shri. M.Thangadurai, Shri. K Sukumar, Shri. R

Raja, Shri. K Ramanathan and Shri. M.Arulkumaran as members did a wonderful job in coordinating the grounds for

various matches. We place our sincere thanks to the team.

14. ONE MAN COMMISSION

• Our special thanks to our one man commission Shri. CA V Ravindhran for his support and contribution in resolving

issues relating to the league matches.

15. TNCA SUMMER CAMP

• The annual TNCA Summer camp was completed successfully. The camp started on 1st May 2019 and ended on 15th May

2019 at SDCA Nets at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium. 63 Under 14 & Under 16 Cricketers were coached by Shri.Mahesh,

TNCA Coach ably assisted by Shri.Mani Arjunan.

16. INTER SCHOOLS and INTER COLLEGE TOURNAMENTS

SDCA hosted the following tournaments,

17. ANNUAL DAY

The 61st Annual Day was celebrated on the 16th March 2019 at Hotel CJ Pallazio, Salem. Shri.K.S.Visvanathan, CEO,

Chenai Super Kings graced the occasion as the chief guest. Shri.S.Martin Raj, Assistant Secretary, TNCA &

Shri.P.K.G.Subramanian, Chairman, District Secretaries Forum graced the occasion as the Guests of Honor.
