Sian Kinder• Comes from a family of

teachers (Guernsey) – currently teaching yr 3 hankering for year 6.

• Thinker and a joker –listens carefully, comes up with the ‘punchline’

• 25 yrs old, likes sports & travelling –

• If Sian wasn’t here now she’d be at the research station at the South Pole pushing back the frontiers of our understanding of glaciation.

Alex Wilkinson• 45 yr old family man who loves

spending time with his children• He didn’t enjoy school and is

partly in education to try and do a better job than his teachers

• He sometimes wakes up in the morning and can’t believe he’s a lead learner

• He likes to get away from it all in the country or mountains

• If he wasn’t here now, he’d like a stab at being Jeremy Paxman

Angelika Janes

• Angelika Janes• German and French teacher at Marlwood• Head of Year 9• Married with 2 boys, 21 and 23• Strengths: good with people, and

hardworking (sleeping bag in school).Angelika is German and has lived in the UK for

over 20 years. Before moving to the UK she taught physically handicapped children in Berlin. She is not a career woman by design, but began language teaching and then became a Head of Year accidentally!

She loves England, and never wants to leave – she even drinks tea!

If Angelika wasn’t here today… She would be picnicking on strawberries, cream and champagne beside a Cotswold lake with the man she loves.

Gemma Godwin• Married • 2 year old daughter Alice• Teacher for 8 years• Infants• Studied German, French and ICT, now

only uses the latter• Strength: good sense of humour, laid

back, able to work to a deadline• Gemma is more focused on her home

life than on her career.• She would much rather be gardening

and cooking and knitting than teaching. • She thinks these are young fogey

pastimes.• If she was not here today, she would

like to be wandering around a luscious garden, having an enormous lunch in a tea shop.
