Clients & Staff attend MLK Day Parade By Jeff Kupras ([email protected])
The Rutledge frozen
chosen braved tempera-tures in the thirties to watch the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade in Carroll-ton on January 18th. The parade was sched-uled to begin at 10 am downtown, but was delayed an hour much to our dismay considering the frosty tempera-tures. However, a
good time was had by all watching as the floats and marching bands parad-ed by us.

On January 26, 2016, I went out
with my friends and direct support staff Lorna Kitchens to Chick-fil-A for free sausage biscuit day.
We drove through the drive-thru window to place our order. We or-dered hash-browns to go along with our sausage bis-cuits.
When we drove to the window to pay the lady at the window told us that the car ahead of us paid for our order. It made me happy that someone was so nice to pay for our food.
My friends and I went and ate our breakfast together. We talked and laughed as we ate our breakfast. It was a great day!

Christmas Luncheon held on Dec. 9th By Pam Sibley ([email protected])
Our annual Christmas Luncheon was held at
the Newnan Utilities Cabin on Wednesday,
December 9th. Over 120 people were in at-
tendance for this event including clients, staff,
board members, and special guests.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of turkey
and dressing with all the fixings, dessert, and
tea. After lunch, Rutledge clients provided
musical entertainment. They sang several
popular Christmas carols. The choir always
brings smiles to our faces and
uplifts our spirits.
Executive Director Bobby
Welch recognized several
guests who play an important
part in helping Rutledge on a
regular basis. President of the
Board Linda Wilson made a
few remarks as well.
This luncheon included our an-
nual awards for clients, staff,
and community supporters for
2015. Among the recipients for
client attendance awards were
Mike Smith, Corey Herndon,
Maggie Custodio, Stanley Neal,
Cheryl Deaver, Holly Stringfel-
low, Brittani Paschal, Chris
Grant, Andrew Studley, Amber
Parker and Debbie Grayer.
Three employees were recognized for
15 years of service. They were Ann
Newton, Sha Fleming and Pam Sibley.
Also, Jane Shirley was honored for 16
years of service as she announced her
retirement on December 31st.
Community Supporter of the Year went
to Sonrise Baptist Church. Client of the
Year was Willie Cox.
The luncheon ended with each client
receiving a gift from Rutledge. The
clients were very grateful for their gifts
and for the fellowship.
