Health and Safety: A nominated Safety Officer will be in attendance throughout the Show. Exhibitors and spectators are reminded that just as The Rottweiler Club has a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all those attending their event, all those present have a duty and responsibility for their own safety. They are therefore expected to take the greatest care to avoid guy ropes, uneven surfaces and other hazards which are inevitable and integral elements of a dog show. Those bringing and using portable items of equipment such as folding chairs, trolleys, cages and grooming tables also have a responsibility to ensure that their tools, equipment and furniture is used and erected safely and does not constitute a hazard to others. Exhibitors are also reminded that they should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the prevailing conditions on the site. Exhibitors show at their own risk and if they consider conditions are not ideal or are unsafe they may withdraw their dog/s from classes.

Mr John Bond (Kanesbrook)

I have been involved with rottweilers for 42 years now. I got my first dog from the Janbicca kennels but unfortunately he died at 14 months. I got another one from Jane Bloom Janbicca Perseus. He won everything here in Ireland got 2 CCs and 6 RCCs he also sired top winning dogs and bitches. I first saw a Rottweiler in Blackpool at an RAF Camp called RAF Wheaton. I was there on trial for Manchester United at their training camp and there was some 300 young players doing the summer camp. Over the years involved with the breed I have saw a big change in size movement and temperament. When I first started the dogs when they came into the ring they had this attitude "look at me I am here" not now which I think is a good thing. I have bred two Best of Breed winners at Crufts. I have also bred Irish and GB Champions who have gone on to produce dual Champions. My best dog was Kanesbrook Black Denzil, who had 22 CCs and was top winning Show Dog all breeds in Ireland 2008. He also won D.O.T.Y. twice and also won it with a bitch that Marie Ward bred. I bred another winner of the competition and Perseus sired 3 winners. Unfortunately, I found him dead that year on my birthday something I have never got over. He was something special loved his walks and swimming. I still enjoy going to shows here in Ireland but I don't go to as many shows in England. I don't show as much now as old age catches up with most of us including myself. I am looking forward to judging this show and I hope I will get the Club a BIG entry. Hope to see you all next year and wish the club all the best for the future.

Working as a dog groomer and dog trainer for the last 18 years, dogs are my life! I have owned Rottweilers for 15 years and caught the show bug when I bought my first “show dog” in 2008 from the Fantasa kennel. Annie achieved a RCC and loves showing still. I have bred 3 litters and we currently have 5 Rottweilers at home. My proudest moment was representing NOERC at dog of the year with a bitch I bred myself. Showing has taking a back seat recently as we have 3 children under 5!

I have enjoyed judging for the last 5 years when I get chance and I am really looking forward to this appointment..

• DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES •In the following definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any Show award that counts towards the title of Champion under the Rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club. Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members' classes or competing for Members' Specials each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of postal entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. Friday, 22nd February 2019. Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and Variety classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose one of the following options: (1) Withdrawal The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulation 20. (2) Transfer a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its colour, sex, weight or height the Show Secretary shall

transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct colour, sex, weight or height and, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted to the Open class for the correct colour, sex, weight or height.

b) For an exhibit entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy Class, Puppy Class or Junior Class, which is over age but under twelve calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or 24 calendar months of age respectively, the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy Class, Junior Class or Yearling Class respectively for the correct colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling Class to the Open Class for the correct colour, sex, weight or height.

c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer It to the Open Class for the correct colour, sex, weight or height.

d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be transferred to any other class.

MINOR PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.YEARLING For dogs of twelve and not exceeding twenty four calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.POSt GRADUAtE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or 5 or more First Prizes at Championship

Shows in Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open Classes whether restricted or not where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.

LIMIt For dogs which have not become show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club, or won 3 or more CC/CACIB/CAC/Green Stars or won 7 or more First Prizes in all at Championship Shows in Limit and Open Classes, confined to the breed, whether restricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.

OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.VEtERAN For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the first day of the Show.CHAMPION For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion or Show Champion under Kennel Club Regulations or

under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club.SPECIAL AWARD PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.SPECIAL AWARD JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.SPECIAL AWARD OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.SPECIAL WORKING/OBEDIENCE/KC GOOD CItIZEN DOG SCHEME For a dog or bitch which has been placed

first, second or third in Obedience competition or Working Trials or have gained a Working Trials qualification, to be noted on the entry form, or for dogs who have obtained their Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award or higher (date to be given on the entry form).

ADVISORY NOtICENOt FOR COMPEtItION Societies may at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries. Societies may accept

such entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed.

• RULES and REGULATIONS • 1. The Show will open at 8.30 am. 2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure that exhibits are available for

judging when required. 3. Judging will commence at: 9.30 am. 4. Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may not be removed

any earlier unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the Show Management

and then only in very exceptional and unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the Kennel Club. The Show will close half an hour after all judging has been completed by which time dogs must be removed.

5. Entry Fees: Members: First class per dog £17.00; each subsequent class with the same dog £2.50. Non-Members: First class per dog £22.00; each subsequent class with the same dog £3.00. Veteran Class: £10.00. Special Awards: £3.50 per class. Not for Competition: £3.00 per dog (ncluding puppies from 4 months of age). Details of the dog must be included on the entry form. Catalogues: £3.00 pre-paid with entries (limited number available on the day at £4.00). Advertisements: £10.00 Full Page; £6.00 Half Page. 6. Prize Money will be awarded to BIS, RBIS, BPIS, BVIS and class winner of SW/OB/KCGC. 7. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 8. Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition. 9. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 10. Best Puppy in Show Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy

which has competed and is unbeaten by any other puppy exhibited at the same show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Show. Where the Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Show. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best in Show.

11. Best in Show Best in Show must be selected from the exhibits declared Best of Sex but only if they have received a first prize in a class at the same show. If a Reserve Best in Show is to be selected, the eligible dogs are those declared Best Opposite Sex and Reserve Best of Sex to the exhibit declared Best in Show.

12. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

14. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

15. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations

Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday

route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water

available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of

water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths

of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire

results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND tO BE At RISK FORCIBLE ENtRY tO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WItHOUt LIABILItY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.

18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

19. No modifications will be made to the schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine press wherever possible.

20. All postal entries must be made on or before Friday, 1st March 2019 (Postmark) upon entry forms enclosed for that purpose. Each exhibitor must use a separate entry form. No entries will be accepted without fees. Online entries can be made up until midnight on Friday, 15th March 2019 at www.fossedata.co.uk.

If acknowledgement of entries is required an addressed, stamped card with “Receipt” written on the reverse side should be enclosed for signature.

21. Exhibitors are asked to note that cheques sent to cover entry fees must be in order for immediate payment. Those which are not so for any reason whatsoever, including technical irregularities, will not be accepted and the entries will be returned. Any Bank charges incurred by the Club due to dishonoured cheques will be passed on to the exhibitor. Failure to pay entry fees and/or bank charges will result in the exhibitor being dealt with by the Kennel Club.

22. The Committee is empowered to exclude or remove any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition from disease, vice, natural or other causes. If such exclusion takes place either before or after the dog is judged, the entry fee will be forfeited. Vicious dogs must not be brought to the Show. Exhibitors are held responsible for any damage done by their dogs.

23. The Committee will not be in any way responsible for any claim for injury or compensation occasioned by or arising out of the holding of the Show or by reason of the act or default of any person in attendance thereat. The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of the dogs sent for exhibition and for any other property entrusted to them, but it must be distinctly understood by exhibitors and all other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss, detention or damage to dog(s), cages, etc. or any property whether arising from accident or any cause whatever, nor for any act or omission of themselves, their officers, agents, servants or others, and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.

24. The judge is instructed and empowered to withhold the prize in any class if in his opinion the dog(s) exhibited do not possess sufficient merit. Exhibitors are not permitted to hold conversation with the judge during competition and any exhibitor who persists in addressing the judge after being requested not to do so by the Ring Steward, the Judge or Show Manager, may be disqualified and any prize awarded to his/her dog forfeited. No person other than the exhibitor (officials excepted) will be allowed in the ring during the judging. A Judge’s decision shall be final except in a case of fraud or misrepresentation or where a mistake has been made bona fide by the judge.

25. No animal other than those entered at the Show shall be allowed within the precincts of the Show. 26. Should any question arise not provided for in these Rules and Regulations, the decision of the Committee shall

be final, subject only to appeal to the Kennel Club. The Committee of the Kennel Club shall be the main Court of Appeal in all questions or disputes of any kind whatsoever except where such powers are delegated by the Kennel Club (arising out of Kennel Club Rules & Regulations).

27. Every exhibitor making an entry/entries for this Show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by Kennel Club Rules & Show Regulations.

28. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

29. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. An exercise area will be provided. Please use this facility. Buckets and shovels will be available in the rings and other locations and are to be used for this purpose.

30. In the event of fire or similar emergency, owners and/or handlers must remove all dogs from the hall and assemble outside away from the building. Do not attempt to leave the showground, this could obstruct the arrival of emergency vehicles.

31. Any person found to be interfering with, or attempting to feed any dog other than their own or those for which they are responsible for, will be reported to the police and the Kennel Club.

32. Parents or temporary guardians are responsible for children they bring to the Show, particularly in respect of nuisance, vandalism and damage to property. Should we have trouble in this respect, we claim the right to reject from this venue, the parents or temporary guardians, the children and their dog(s). No refund will be made in respect of lost entries. Parents or temporary guardians will be held financially responsible for any act of vandalism or damage by their children, and their entries may be refused at future Shows.

33. The Committee can accept no responsibility for products advertised or sold by Trade Stands at this show, and would remind exhibitors that grooming products on sale may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the Preperation of Dogs for Exhibition.

34. Soft Crates. The Kennel Club has drawn attention to the potential health & safety implications concerning the use of soft crates at shows and in its view, they do not offer sufficient protection to dogs. Soft crates left unattended at the ringside are a potential hazard particularly when occupied by large breeds, and it has been known for dogs to become distressed and move soft crates along the floor and also escape. Soft crates should only be used when there is sufficient room available and when they can be safely secured.

35. Each exhibitor is responsible for providing their own crate or cage identification detailing that exhibit number, this should be displaed at all times. The original exhibit number as provided by the Show Society MUST NOT be used for this purpose.

UPDATED NOV 2017

From the South via the M1 & A43: Exit the M1 at Junction 15 and join the A508 North. After 2 miles the A508 becomes the A45. At the third intersection leave the A45 by the slip road and join the A43 (signposted Kettering). Travel for 3 miles, straight across 2 roundabouts and at the third turn left onto Overstone Road (signposted Moulton). Continue until you see the Co-op and bear slightly left until you reach a mini-roundabout in front of the Post Office. Turn right down Stocks Hill, which leads into Cross Street, which leads into West Street. Take the first turning right into Pitsford Road and then first right again into the College.

From the North via the A508: Leave the A508 when signposted Pitsford and pass through the village following signs to Moulton. On leaving Pitsford follow Moulton Road, which becomes Pitsford Road, for 1.5 miles when the entrance to the Holcot Centre will be seen on your left. For the Main Site, continue for 700 metres and turn left into the College.
