In Memoriam

Please remember Charles Pat-rick Abell whose Funeral Ser-vice was celebrated in our par-

ish community. Please remem-ber his family in prayer.

Marriage Moments The Epiphany is a feast of outreach and inclusion.

The appearance of Jesus to the three wise men from

the East reminds us that Jesus came for all human-

kind, not just the Jewish people. So too, married love

is not a gift to be hoarded. Reach out to someone

who is sad, in trouble, or from a different culture.

Parenting Pointers As we start a new calendar year, resolutions are

common - but too soon forgotten. Perhaps re-

membering important things is timely. Share as

a family: The happiest time for me this past year

was __________ & A regret (sadness) I have

about last year is ___________.

Please Pray for the Sick

Please call the Parish Office (270-692-3019, ext. 6) to request for someone to added to this prayer list.

Thanks!

We have a beautiful ministry of

visiting our sick and homebound

at Holy Name of Mary and St.

Augustine. If you, a family mem-

ber, or a parishioner, are home-

bound and not able to attend

church and would like to be add-

ed to our shut-in list, please call the Parish Office at

270-692-3019.

Our weekly Bible Study continues at

St. Augustine and Holy Name of Mary

on Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to

11:30 a.m. in St. Augustine’s Parish

Center. There is no material to pur-

chase. Just bring your Bible if you

have one. We have extra bibles availa-

ble. These reflective scripture sessions and shared prayer are a great way

to do something positive for our troubled world.

Each week will be an individual session so if you cannot attend every

week, you are still welcome any week that you can attend. Come and

bring a friend! Let us listen to God’s word and reflect upon his message

together! If you have any questions, please call Kathy Shannon at the

parish offices 692-9009 EX.4. All are welcome.

The Wisdom Keepers will travel to Washington D.C., September 14-

18, 2020, Monday through Friday, for five days/four nights. Martin

Tours has planned the trip with a cost of $650 per person for a Double

Occupancy room. This price includes motor coach, guided tours, hotel

and four breakfasts. All other meals are on your own.

We will visit on Tuesday, Arlington Cemetery, WWII Memorial, MLK

Memorial, FDR Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Jefferson Memorial &

take pictures at the White House.

On Wednesday we will tour the Lincoln, Korea, & Vietnam Memorials, visit the Shrine of the Immaculate

Conception, tour the US Capitol, and visit the Air & Space Museum.

On Thursday we visit Mt. Vernon, American & Natural History Museums, Iwo Jima Memorial.

Monday and Friday are travel days. Walking is required each day.

To sign-up for our trips, you must be present at our January Wisdom Keepers meeting on Tuesday, Jan-

uary 14, at noon. You may sign-up yourself and your rooming partners but no additional persons. If you have

additional parishioners to sign-up, their names will be added to a waiting page until after all present have

signed-up.

The first $50.00 payment must be made to St. Augustine by February 5. The second $300 payment is due by

March 5, with the final $300.00 payment due by June 5.

next communal celebra-

The Epiphany of the Lord

“On entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They knelt down and did him homage. The

they opened their treasures and offered him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11

The wise men shared their treasures in thanksgiving for God’s great gift to the world.

Are we willing to share our treasures in praise and thanksgiving to God?

Advertisers of the Week . . . Did you know?

Our bulletin is provided to our parish by Diocesan at NO COST! The

advertisers that you see on the back of the bulletin purchase ads that

cover the cost of our bulletin. We are very grateful to all of them. We

encourage you to look at the many advertisers in our bulletin. Patron-

ize their businesses and let them know you appreciate their support.
