Dear Employer,Taking an active role in the health of your employees is a noble task with so many benefits. Healthy employees enjoy better quality of life, which means your workplace environment is positive and productive – and that helps your bottom line. Good health is good for everyone.
Did you know that in the U.S. about 13 percent of babies are born too early?* Healthy choices during pregnancy can make a difference in the number of premature births.
We are sending you this healthy pregnancy awareness campaign kit to support you as you help your employees who are pregnant, or considering it. A healthy birth starts before a woman is ever pregnant. Some women may not know how to prepare for a safe and healthy pregnancy and birth. You
can help them by creating awareness about good health before, during and after pregnancy.
Within this kit you’ll find a month-by-month plan that includes:
} Materials to inform your employees about healthy pregnancy
} Helpful tips on healthy habits
} Information on Future Moms, a special program we offer for pregnant Anthem members
} Events or activities you can do to lead your employees down the path to a healthy pregnancy
The first step is to let your employees know about the campaign. Click here for wording you can use in an email or a letter to introduce the campaign to your workforce.
Next, use the tools provided in this kit to launch an informative, interactive campaign to help your employees focus on their health during pregnancy – for their benefit and yours. Here’s what we’ve provided for each month:
} Day 1: Send the introductory email or letter explaining the materials and activities for the month.
} Week 1: Send the educational article by email or distribute hard copies. If it suits you, put the article in a newsletter you are publishing that month.
} Week 2: If provided, print posters and hang them around your offices. Or, send the video link in an email.
} Week 3: Distribute the flier or poster inviting Anthem members to join Future Moms. (Send this PDF in an email or print it out and post it around your offices.)
} Week 4: Sum up the month with an interactive fun activity or an email/letter encouraging your employees to visit anthem.com/ca and load up on great resources for those interested in
pregnancy.
We know this kit can be a helpful roadmap as you take your employees on a journey toward good health.

Dear <INSERT COMPANY NAME> Employee,
The big day is on its way. (We’re talking about the day your baby is born, of course!) You’ve been taking your pregnancy one small healthful step at a time. Now, there are just a couple more things to do before your baby comes into the world.
Read the article on breastfeeding and see why it’s a great first step on your baby’s road to good health and an easy way to lose those extra pregnancy pounds.
What to expect the big dayIt seems like you can never learn too much about labor and delivery. Watch the video “Labor and delivery – what you should know about the big day,” to see what you might expect before, during and after the birth of your child.
Getting packedBabies can be unpredictable, so pack your hospital bag early to be ready for anything. Use the “hospital checklist” to make sure you have everything you need in one place for your child’s “birth” day.
