Customer BenefitsG570MaterialManufactured from a Cobalt-based HSS (M42), a premium grade high speed tool steel, heat treated to surpass the hardness of other HSS materials. The increased cobalt content helps retain hardness at elevated temperatures. This increased hot hardness makes the material especially suited for machining stainless steels and temperature resistant alloys. It also gives the material increased wear resistance needed for machining in highly abrasive cutting applications. M42 is also a very tough grade and can therefore cope with the most aggressive applications in most materials.

Surface FinishThe Aluminium Titanium Carbo-Nitride (AlTiCN) multilayer coating has a hardness of 3700HV which surpasses many other nitride based coatings available today. The high hardness of the coating in combination with its high elasticity, low friction and high oxidation resistance enhances the performance of cutting tools, especially for machining stainless steels and nickel-based high temperature alloys. The coating is also well suited for interrupted cutting operations as well as lubricated, semi-dry or dry machining.

GeometryThe cutting geometry of the countersink has been improved for high productivity countersinking in stainless steels and abrasive high alloyed steels.

Features & Benefits

G600MaterialManufactured from high speed tool steel (HSS - M2), which works well in almost all applications from mild to severe metal-cutting conditions. Its ability to absorb impact is the highest of all HSS materials. This toughness makes it especially suited as a material for tools with extended reach.

Surface FinishThe bright finish resists built up edge (BUE) on the cutting edges when machining soft steels and non-ferrous alloys. This reduces the frictional heat and load at the cutting edges, resulting in improved surface finish.

ShankThe extra length of the shank, gives the countersink the reach needed for deburring and chamfering holes that could otherwise not be reached with standard length tools.

GeometryThe high cutting rake angle optimises performance.

ApplicationsCountersinks are one of the most versatile cutting tools. Primarily used to create a chamfer to fit the head of a countersunk bolt they can also be used for removing burrs and uneven edges to improve the surface finish of a component. Chamfering a hole before tapping or thread forming increases the holes location accuracy and also prevents the swell of material at the entry surface. As an additional application these countersinks can also be used to create a 45° angle.
