Project Manager/Technical Lead for Plant Fire Alarm System Replacements, New Fire Suppression (Gaseous & Water Based) & Fire Water System Installations
Did you know … AREVA’s committed and highly experienced Fire Protection Group has provided engineering services to the nuclear power industry for more than 25 years, bringing experience and global capabilities to the majority of the U.S. nuclear power plant fl eet?
AREVA’s Fire Protection Group has the expertise to support the nuclear fl eet in resolving issues associated with all aspects of their license-based Fire Protection Program, whether they retain the prescriptive 10CFR 50 Appendix R, or transitioned to the 10CFR 50.48.c NFPA 805 performance-based programs. AREVA has supported plants with their deterministic safe shutdown analyses as well as the development of their programs for transition, implementation and maintenance of NFPA 805performance-based programs. AREVA has also supported plants that have retained their prescriptive-based programs in the development and implementation of Fire Probabilistic Risk Assessment programs in accordance with Regulatory Guide 1.189.
AREVA also has extensive experience in developing classical fi re protection system analysis/design/implementation as well as onsite support services. With the advent of EPU, NFPA 805 risk reduction and License Renewal requirements, AREVA’s Fire Protection Group has supported plants in developing/implementing modifi cations to protect new transformer installations, plant fi re alarm system replacement and incipient detection designs to address the program commitments in a cost eff ective manner. Now that’s a commitment you can count on.
Fire Protection
Did you know … AREVA can fully support you as you address post-Fukushima requirements for your facility?
With a global presence, AREVA maintains very close working relationships with virtually every nuclear utility in the world. These relationships, combined with safety experience as an operator of its own nuclear industrial facilities, give AREVA a perspective unique among industry suppliers. From its front-line vantage point, the company has structured its Safety Alliance framework for analyzing and addressing safety issues following Fukushima.
This framework is structured around three imperatives: resistance to major hazards, robustness of cooling capability, and prevention of environmental damage. Expertise on all reactor designs and a depth of engineering and project management bench strength make the company well-positioned not only to respond to FLEX requirements, but to deploy a comprehensive package of solutions to help utilities to prepare, preserve and protect their communities and fl eets — now and for years to come.

Did you know … AREVA can off er cradle-to-grave solutions for your electrical and mechanical component obsolescence challenges?
Aging and obsolescence of electrical components, such as control switches, relays, breakers, solenoid valves, motor operated valves, air operated valves, EDG hoses, and electronic modules continues to become a major concern in the United States. To avoid costly down time, AREVA can work with your Procurement and System Engineering organization to identify critical-to-generation components that are no longer available and have no spares in stock.
Our engineers can identify the critical characteristics for the obsolete components and recommend suitable replacements from our Nuclear Parts Center as well as other suppliers. We also have the in-house capability to re-engineer electronic modules, if needed. Our Commercial Grade Dedication engineers can qualify the recommended replacement components, and our new Technical Solutions Center allows us to do our own qualifi cation testing in-house, saving time and money while ensuring quality.
