Royal Girl Week (Jan 5th-Jan 11th)[theme: the purpose of development]

Have you ever wondered why Jesus didnt start healing people and gathering

up masses to tell the gospel until he was 30 ? Ive often thought about this.

What was Jesus doing all those years in between ? Just relaxing ? He didnt

heal or save one soul all those years ? I couldnt believe it. We have read that

when he was 12 he discussed the teachings of the Torah with those in the

synagogue. People were astonished at the knowledge that he possessed at

    such a young age.

    Luke 2:46-52 (Message Version)

46-48The next day they found him in the Temple seated among the

teachers, listening to them and asking questions. The teachers were all quite

taken with him, impressed with the sharpness of his answers. But his parents

were not impressed; they were upset and hurt. His mother said, Young man,

why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been half out of our

minds looking for you. 49-50He said, Why were you looking for me? Didnt

you know that I had to be here, dealing with the things of my Father? But

they had no idea what he was talking about. 51-52So he went back toNazareth with them, and lived obediently with them. His mother held these

things dearly, deep within herself. And Jesus matured, growing up in both

body and spirit, blessed by both God and people.

Then the story fades to black. Some go into the super spiritual and try to

make a very deep conclusion out of this pause. The purpose of Jesus not

diving straight into the ministry has confounded many but I would like to shed

    some light on this matter.

Based upon the passage above from Luke 2, we can see several things. As

stated previously, Jesus was mature for his age. He was well-versed and very

intelligent. We also see that Jesus had early revelation that his true father was

not Joseph (Luke 2:49-50). He was walking according to particular

revelations. However, the FULLNESSof his purpose had not been revealed

to him completely. Why not ?

Jesus had to walk among man before he could save man. He lived a

regular life with his mother Mary and father Joseph. His father was a builder

(many suggest a carpenter or stonemason) and in that society, the sons were

taught the trade of their father. Jesus probably grew up watching his father

covered in wood shavings or surrounded around stones. As Jesus grew up inthis society, he began to understand the culture, the law, and the people who

lived in and under it. He understood the social class structure and how those

with diseases were seen as outcasts. After years and years of development

and living among them, the time soon came and Jesus began to fully operate

in his calling at the age of 30, as suggested by Luke 3:23. As Jesus just

spoke to the crowds, we can see his time of development showing on

several occasions. Jesus spoke to crowds in parables. These parables were

relatable to the people he spoke to. If you listen to these parables and his

teachings, you will see that he knew how the law of Moses operated and howto translate Gods message of GRACE to these listeners. All of those years

growing and learning from his parents and under the shadow of his true

Father (God), he was fully developed for his mission (his purpose).

So many of us are so focused on pushing our purpose rather than

developing it. Imagine Mary, the mother of Jesus. God, you told me that

this child would be the Savior of the world. Mary was CONFIDENT in what

God revealed to her. She did her job. She groomed him and cared for him as

a mother would. The way that Mary cared for Jesus in his development is thesame way we must care for our purpose as it develops. When God is ready

to let it fully operate, things will come in line for it to happen. I would

like to think of it like a fruit that is hanging on the tree but still not ripe. You

have to continue to let the sun shine on the tree. You have to continue to

water and provide the proper care for the tree. In due time,YOUR

PURPOSE WILL BE READY FOR THE MASSES.

Patience is very hard for many of us. However, God is perfecting and us. Here

are some additional points from this story of Jesus in his development.

    1) He was surrounded around the proper support system

    2) He was obedient to those in authority (His parents)

    3) He understood the people who he was sent to serve

Scriptures to Meditate on this Week:

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,

wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to

all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him askin faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven

with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any

thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

    (James 1:4-8 KJV)

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his

fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall

    prosper

    (Psalm 1:3 KJV)

Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal

status with God but didnt think so much of himself that he had to cling to the

advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he

set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became

human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly

humbling process. He didnt claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a

selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient deathand the worst

kind of death at thata crucifixion. (Philippians 2:5-8 Message Version)

    Daily Confession

In the Name of Jesus, I come to you this morning thanking you for who you

are. You are my ALL. I thank you for patience, humility, and a heart for people.

Open my eyes to see YOU in all that I do. Let me have an understanding

heart today. Guide my words and remove offense from my mouth. I declare

that you are drawing women and men to meso I can tell them about you.

Cover me with your Spirit. FleshI lay you down today. I will not make

decisions based on how I feel. I will make decisions based upon my Faith in

the Living God and on His Love. Nothing can defeat my praise and my

confidence in the fact that I AM A WINNER. I declare that you are shifting and

moving people, resources, and ideas to come my way. I am ROYALTY and
