Box pleats make it difficult to roll over, thus hopefully reducing staff/pupil conflict over skirt length

John Hall (the suppliers) will stitch an ‘exclusively designed for All Hallows by John Hall’ label into the new skirts to make it hard for the skirt to be copied cheaply

The cut of the skirt is more flattering and much more comfortable when the girls sit down

The material is of a better quality and the girls so far have said that the skirt has a ‘more current’ style

The skirt looks well with black tights which will please many of the girls in Winter!

ImplicationsCOST – the new skirt is approximately £5.00 more expensive than the current variety (the tartan material costs more to weave) (£23.95 compared to £18.50)

However – this money could be saved by swopping the purple PE briefs for plain black ones (a saving of £5.00) PE staff are happy with this.

The cost of the PE skirt will also be reduced by £2.00 anyway from September as new suppliers have been sourced by Justs/Delta

This should make the TOTAL cost of a girl’s uniform £2.00 cheaper overall from September 2013.

SUPPLY – Suppliers have asked if they can be informed by Christmas of any changes to the uniform for September 2013

CONSULTATION – The student and year councils are in the process of being consulted about the skirt as are Year 6 pupils. Reactions have been very positive overall.
