48 The Pergament Paint store and the Patchogue Stationary store became a total fire loss on April 23, 1959. This was the former location of the Bee Hive department store. This Jim Mooney aerial photo shows clearly the extend of the damage. The intersection on the left side of the picture is Patchogue’s ‘Four Corners’. The burned building is the section of the Roe Hotel that survived the 1934 fire. Today this is the site of Blum’s lady’s apparel store. A February 26, 1967 fire destroyed the Sylvia Dee store and the Judson’s Men’s Store on East Main Street. A fire at Dale’s Fabric Shoppe on East Main Street, February 2, 1968 also damaged the adjacent Patchogue Stationary Store. A second fire on February 13 made a total loss out of the damaged stationary store.
