SPRING 2016

The more tech savvy we become, the more wedding websites become a mandatory

item. You can not only share the story of you as a couple, but you can explain details on

where to stay, activities in the area surrounding your event, and even give them insight

on your wedding party. One of the biggest advantages of wedding websites is the ability

to RSVP online. A simple click of the mouse can let you know in an instant how many

people to expect. We send out envelopes with stamps on them, but really we can only

lead that horse to water.

Another, less obvious perk, is the ability to list where you are registered. Since it is

generally in poor taste to place your registry information in your invitation, a wedding

website is a perfectly acceptable alternative. The Knot is one of the most popular, user

friendly ways to create a site but we prefer more customizable and modern layouts

from companies such as Squarespace.

In this industry, we meet a lot of people…photographers specifically. These are the folks

capturing the biggest day of someone’s life and as such should be personable at the very least. At their

very best, they are people like Joey and April Bertocchini of Half Full Photography. Amazingly

charismatic people who certainly don’t take themselves too seriously, but consider what they do to be

of the utmost importance to the clients they serve. These two gorgeous creatures are not only

partners in business, but also in life. Their unique bond as husband and wife give them the ability to

understand what moments are important to both sides of a couple, and support each other to

makes sure they are right there for every single one.

“We always feel a huge sense of gratitude when clients reach out to us about playing such an important role in their

wedding day. We’ve been incredibly lucky to not only get to do what we love, but also to have the opportunity to

meet and work with some amazing couples from all over the world. For us, getting to spend the day together,

capturing incredibly special moments with a couple as they come together as husband and wife, we truly feel like we

are the luckiest people ever.” April and Joey Bertocchini, Half Full Photography

It is such a pleasure to work alongside these two to make our clients day complete. They have

become great “friendors” of ours and we hope they will be yours as well. If this doesn’t convince you,

look no further than the image of them on their website landing page dancing whilst wearing horse

heads….they really are THAT fun!

With an increasing amount of ways to share images

from your wedding, no one way seems to be enough.

Collect all the memories you can by giving your guests

multiple platforms. Instagram hashtags are the most

obvious choice, but be sure to make yours unique.

Search the hash tag of your choice to ensure it is not

already being used. This way, all of the photos

searchable are of your big day.

If you find your group is not in the Instagram

generation, use a platform like WedPics in addition to

share all of the activities during and leading up to your

wedding. You create a personal profile that will be live

until you delete it. Even if your guests download the

app and delete it post wedding, you will have a ton of

pictures to keep forever.

We are in love with the watercolor trend. The ethereal look of colors

blended together is so romantic, and introduces personal touches that don’t

scream DIY. Watercolor can be seen on stationary including everything

place cards to table numbers. Watercolor has also made its way to desserts

making this new trend both beautiful and edible. Sweet Cheeks, our

preferred bakery, has done amazing work not only cakes but cookies as well.

Whether your wedding has a modern edge or a feminine feel, watercolor

can transcend your theme and make it wow!

I met this lovely duo when they were still both kids. Very dear friends of my family, I was thrilled that they trusted myself and the team here

at Lomas with the task of planning their San Diego destination vow renewal. Married for 5 years, they never had a true ceremony and

celebration of their union, but this February we finally made it happen. The day was lovely, the bride was gorgeous and the details

were to die for.

THE PROPOSAL: The proposal happened at one of Brian and Lindsay’s favorite places, and the location of their first date; The Wild Animal Park!

We were having such a fun day enjoying the park. We went to a big grass area that overlooks the Heart of Africa. When we had our first date here,

we were in this exact spot and I kept expecting the first kiss, but Brian never made his move. This time I was watching the animals and Brian came up

behind me. "Do you remember our first date here?" he asked. "Yes, when you didn’t have the courage to kiss me?!". He said, "Well now we get to

make better memories." I turned around and he was on one knee with a beautiful ring in his hand. He didn't have to say anything more. I said yes and

hugged him. - Lindsay

THE DETAILS: The color palate for the day centered on deep blues, gold tones and soft white floral. The ceremony, officiated by a family friend

(and father of yours truly) was both intimate and humorous, which was perfect this pair. The guests enjoyed appetizers on the patio while

sipping beer from Barrel Harbor, a local brewery in San Diego. The guest tables had blue shantung linens, gold Chiavari chairs and florals

that boasted anemones and white roses, A sweetheart table was drenched in navy sequins with gold monogram detail and the most

romantic floral garland to complete the look. Guests dined on Small Plate Stations including a Mashtini Station, Taco Station and a Comfort

Food Station that featured Truffle Macaroni and Cheese (the grooms favorite). A great time was had by all as they danced the night away,

enjoyed amazing desserts by Sweet Cheeks Baking Company, and took silly pics in a booth provided by Starlight Photo Booth.

My favorite part of the day was watching Lindsay walk down the aisle because it was the culmination of five years of drama, happiness, and stress all

coming together to finally give her the moment she deserved. -Brian

Thank you to Lindsay and Brian for sharing your big day with us here at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club!

“This good luck saying dates back to Victorian times and many brides try

to arrange their wedding attire accordingly. Something old represents the

link with the bride's family and the past. Something new represents good

fortune and success in the bride's new life. Something borrowed is to

remind the bride that friends and family will be there for her when help is

needed. Something blue is the symbol of faithfulness and loyalty. A silver

sixpence in her shoe is to wish the bride wealth.” -April 22, 2016
