WISH UPON A WEDDING

I’m sure you remember our adorable couple, Mikela and Aaron, from the Spring Edition of The Perfect Match! After fighting

through chemo due to her Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosis, Mikela and Aaron finally got the wedding of their dreams. You can view

more photos on their photographer, Cavin Elizabeth’s, Facebook page!

If you are asking a Bridesmaid or family member

to put out your personal items on your

wedding day, it is important to stay organized.

Placing all of your favors, escort cards, table

décor, etc. in large plastic containers is a great

way to make sure everything is in its proper

place. Label your containers with the contents

and pictures of how you prefer it to be set up.

Your friends and family will thank you and your

mind will be at ease knowing everything is going

exactly as you planned it.

Wedding favors either serve a purpose or they don’t. As much as you would like to

think that your guests want a heart shaped magnets with your face on them, I guarantee

they will end up in the trash. Gone are the days when it is necessary to force your friends to

help you painstakingly wrap tulle around Jordan almonds tied with a satin bow.

Modern couples are starting to find either useful favors or favors that can serve

multiple purposes. Some of our favorite useful favors include personalized balsamic vinegar

and olive oil in multiple flavor options made by We Olive, along with other homemade

products such as jam and craft beer. Allow the favor to coincide with your theme, not

control it. If you want to utilize your favor for something other than a give away, use it also

as your escort card holder. Miniature succulents with escort cards staked into them, or

bottle openers tagged with the table assignment are items they will take home but will also

show them where to be on your big day. If you find that none of these items are your thing,

consider a late night snack as your thank you.

Finding the perfect wedding DJ can prove extremely difficult if you don’t know

what you are looking for. This individual is responsible for providing atmosphere

for your big day along with keeping the timeline moving to create a seamless event.

Andy Hagenah and his crew at The Groove are the best in the business when it

comes to the all-around DJ experience.

“The Groove has helped thousands of happy clients with their weddings, parties,

fundraisers, holiday events, and more! We make your event a personal and unique

experience that your guests will love!” - Andy Hagenah

In addition to their amazing DJ services, The Groove has a sister business in

Starlight Photo Booth. Cause your friends don’t dance, and if they don’t dance well

they can always hit up the photo booth. Suffice it to say, Andy Hagenah and his

team have your party needs covered.

Lauren and Kevin were introduced to you all in the Winter Edition of the Perfect Match.

We featured their amazing engagement story and now we are excited to share a little

more about them as we reveal their big day!

HOW THEY MET:

Kevin and Lauren met when Lauren was just 16 years old. Kevin was the college

roommate of her older brother Jordan, and his parents lived just down the street. The

boys would come home to visit regularly in the college years where Lauren and Kevin first

got to know each other. Although a joke at the time, Kevin used to tease Jordan that he

would “lock in the friendship” and marry his sister Lauren. It wasn’t until four years later at

the boys graduation that Kevin was able to make good on his joke and not only “lock in

the friendship” but snag a partner for life.

THE DETAILS:

These two were a beautiful couple to work with. The day they booked their

wedding here at Lomas, there were hugs all around and I knew she and I would have a

great relationship. Their families stayed involved throughout the process, showing what a

strong bond they have and will continue to have as they all start this next step in the

journey.

Lauren and Kevin carefully added elements to their weddings to make sure their

personalities shined through. The theme of Bohemian Elegance was evident in the details

throughout the day. Lauren paired Dove Shantung Linens and fitted black chair covers with

woodsy, more naturally placed floral arrangements. The dessert station featured a small

cake for cutting and an artfully displayed array of treats by Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. Shot

glasses tied in sheer black organza were at each place setting, indicating that the couple was

ready to have a party. One of the most adorable personalized parts of the day were the

sunglasses placed on each ceremony chair to be used in a photo of the entire guest list.

Thank you to Lauren and Kevin Mosteller for letting us be a part of the most important

day of your life!

Brunching with friends has been trendy

for quite some time in the restaurant

world and is now starting to make its way

to the wedding industry.

New American inspired food stations and

breakfast cocktails are replacing the

traditional plated meal and wine pour.

Here at Lomas Santa Fe, we have created

a menu inspired by brunching to answer

the call of modern couples everywhere.

“Back in the 15th Century, most people

got married in the month of June because

they took their yearly baths in May and

didn't smell too bad a mere month later.

Just to be on the safe side brides began

carrying bouquets of flowers to hide the

stench of their body odor.” Sick!

“Watching Kevin and our bridal party walk down the aisle. I stood up top with

my Dad and was just in awe with how beautiful the ceremony looked, how

beautiful the day was, how beautiful it was that all these people were there to

support our moment. Seeing Kevin stand at the end of the aisle with my brother

(as officiant) was priceless. My two favorite men in the world, waiting to make

me the happiest girl in the world.” - Lauren Mosteller

"My wedding day was the happiest day of my entire life. It's hard to determine

what my favorite memory was. Seeing Lauren for the first time for during our

first-look was an amazing experience. I have never seen her so beautiful and was

so excited to take her as my wife and spend the rest of our lives together from

that point forward.” - Kevin Mosteller
