Paulding County Cooperative Extension offers its education programs, assistance, and materials to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or veteran status and is an equal opportunity, affirmative action organization.
Community Service is how 4-H pledges “our hands to larger service.” We want this to be a part of your everyday life, not just
something you do for special occasions. To encourage participation in community service, we give 4-H’ers points towards
county 4-H awards, but it also helps with project achievement, leadership, and service learning programs. There is a monthly
outreach, but also ongoing collection of pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and used printer cartridges for
recycling that benefits our 4-H program. Here’s the 2017-2018 community service donation list for 4-H’ers in the 9th-12th grades,
but there will also be service learning opportunities that are “learn by doing” which will be promoted in future newsletters.
August & September 2017: Pop tabs & printer cartridges - ongoing service donations / clean t-shirts & old belts - 4-H projects
October 2017: Boxed macaroni & cheese - CAYA / candy - Paulding’s Trick-or-Treat Village
November 2017: Paper towel rolls - Shepherd’s Rest / toiletries - care boxes for veterans

4-H Camp Corner
While the new school year has started, we would like to share our summer success with 4-H camps. We are happy that 4-H’ers at all levels participat-ed in these programs and that there was a lot of Teen Leader help when
we took 149 Cloverleaf students to Rock Eagle where we won the shield as Muskogees! Camp infor-mation will be available in January and we hope that some of the Seniors will participate in the specialty tracks and/or apply to help as a TL (look for training information in future newsletters.)
