We had a great group of 50 that went on the Potentate’s Trip to Medie-
val Times in Schaumburg. Thanks to Laura Babcock for arranging the
trip on a bus from Rockford for most of us. We had some who came
on their own from Waukegan and Sycamore. Everyone said they had
a good time. The horses were beautiful the knights were courageous
and the food was good. I wanted to try something different for a trip
that would allow more people to participate.
Please take a look at the new fence around the patio near the Oasis
lounge. Our Past Potentate Loy Rice did a wonderful job with the
construction. The entry and mosque have been painted and the
“Brides Room” is being remodeled.
The Rockford City Market will be on July 3. We need helpers to man
the tent and hand out information on Tebala and the Shrine Circus and
Shriners Hospitals
The Shrine Imperial Session will be in Houston, Texas from July 4th
thru July 9th and most of the Divan are attending to represent Tebala.
July 15th is the next Tebala monthly meeting.
July 16th will be the official visit of Supreme Queen Sharon St. John to
Alabet Temple Daughters of the Nile. Following the ceremonial there
will be a social hour and banquet at Hoffman House.
On July 17 – 18 – 19 the Tebala Shrine Circus will be at Rockford
Speedway. We need as many Nobles as possible to come and help out.
August 1st is the Franklin Grove truck show.
The Tebala and Directors Staff Golf Play Day is on August 15th at Sil-
ver Ridge Golf Course in Oregon. August 19th is our annual stag corn
boil at Tebala – No regular meeting this month.
The annual Tebala Family Picnic is on August 30th. The DeKalb
County Shrine Club will be cooking chicken and pork chops. You on-
ly need to bring a dish to pass and your own silverware.
Our monthly temple meeting will be on September 9th This is a week
earlier than usual due to the Great Lakes Shrine Convention in Perrys-
burg, Ohio from September 16th to 19th.
The Potentate’s Ball on September 26th will be at the Hilton Garden
Inn in Rockford.
Transportation will not be problem because there will be rooms availa-
ble at the hotel.

It’s Summer
The sun is shining
Temperature is climbing
I have a daydream
With cake and ice-cream
I watch the children playing
From the early morning till the evening
I smell some roasted meat
There’s a barbecue in every street
Everybody is having fun
Enjoying the warmth of the sun
It’s summer from dusk till dawn
Pass this page on, before the summer is gone.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in
a midwest town he planned to visit on his va-
cation. He wrote:
I would very much like to bring my dog
with me. He is well-groomed and willing to
permit me to keep him in my room with me at
night?
An immediate reply came from the hotel own-
er, who said,
I’ve been operating this hotel for many
years. In all that time, I’ve never had a dog
steal towels, bed clothes or silverware or pic-
tures off the walls.
I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle
of the night for being drunk and disorderly.
And I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel
bill.
Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my
hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you,
you’re welcome to stay here too.
WHO SAID THAT?
“You must learn from the mistakes of others.

Louis Sachar

defeat.” F. Scott Fitzgerald

the rest is merely tenacity.”

ment.”
“Everything can be improved.”
“Instead of giving yourself reasons why you
can’t, give yourself reasons why you can.
“A true friend never gets in your way unless
you happen to be going down.”
“Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if
you lose you will be wise.”
“Life is really simple, but we insist on making
it complicated.”
“Rise above the storm and you will find the
sunshine.”
“A year from now you’ll wish you started

MEN’S REVENGE JOKES
I married Miss Right. I just didn’t know her
first name was Always.
I haven’t spoken to my wife for 18 months; I
don’t like to interrupt her.
The last fight was my fault. My wife asked,
“What’s on the TV?” I said, “Dust!”
In the beginning, God created earth and rested.
Then God created man and rested. Then God
created woman. Since then, neither God nor
man has rested.
Why do men die before their wives? They
want to.
A beggar walked up to a well-dressed woman

LOVES PARK SHRINE CLUB NEWS…(and random thoughts)
Young Son: Is it true, Dad, I heard that in some
parts of Africa a man doesn’t know his wife
until he marries her?
Dad: That happens in every country, son.
A man inserted an ‘ad’ in the classified: “Wife
Wanted” Next day he received a hundred let-
ters. They all said the same thing: “You can
have mine.”
A little boy asked his father, “Daddy, how
much does it cost to get married?” And the
father replied, “I don’t know son, I’m still pay-
ing!”
OIL FARM
A man stopped by a booming oil field in south-
ern Kentucky to give a lift to a man on his way
to the county seat. They drove through once
beautiful farm land now scarred by bulldozers
and drilling rigs, cluttered with pumps and stor-
age tanks. Guessing that his passenger was a
farmer living in the area, the driver steered the
conversation to the tall tales he had heard of
quick riches for both speculators and farmers.
The local man acknowledged that many of the
stories were founded on fact.
“You own a farm here?” the driver asked.
“Yeah,” was the reply.
“Any oil wells on it?”
“Yeah, three good ‘uns and they say they’ll
each make 300 barrels a day.”
“What in the world are you going to do with all
the money you’ll be getting?”
The farmer gazed across a machine-scarred
field for a moment and answered, “Why I’m
gonna buy me a farm that ain’t got oil on it!”
ROMANTIC DINNER
On their anniversary night, the husband sat his
wife down in the den with her favorite maga-
zine, turned on the soft reading lamp, slipped
off her shoes, patted and propped her feet and
announced that he was preparing dinner all by
himself.
“How romantic!” she thought. Two-and-a-half
hours later, she was still waiting for dinner to
be served. She tiptoed to the kitchen and found
it in a colossal mess.
Her harried husband, removing something inde-
scribable from the smoking oven, saw her in the
doorway. “Almost ready!” he vowed. “Sorry it
took me so long—I had to refill the pepper
shaker.”
“Why honey, how long could that have taken
you?” “More’n an hour, I reckon. Wasn’t easy
stuffin’ it through those dumb little holes!”
PSYCHOLOGY
A psychology professor had a bright class this
semester, and he was quite excited to start the
new section on emotional extremes. “Just to
establish some guidelines,” he asked, “what is
the opposite of “joy?”
“Sickness,” replied one student.
Glad to hear this response, the professor asked,
“What is the opposite of ‘depression?’”
“Elation,” responded another student.
“Excellent, class” continued the professor.
“Now, how about the opposite of ‘woe?’“
A student from the back of the room stood up
and said, “Sir, I believe the opposite of ‘woe’
would be ‘giddy-up!’”
SETTING GOALS
During the last session of our teaching work-
shop, participants were asked to state their per-
sonal goals for the immediate future. One
teacher vowed to update photo albums, another
to lose weight. The goal that got the most re-
sponse, however, was given by a slightly out-of
-shape kindergarten teacher. “I resolve to exer-
cise until I can complete a 20-minute workout
in less than an hour,” she said.
It’s about time to duck out, but just a reminder--

BLUE HAZE CHOPPERS 2015 PARADE SEASON BEGINS
The Blue Haze Choppers opened their parade season by participating in what can only be described as
a truly “All American Parade”.
On Monday May 25, the Choppers and Indy Cars roared down the main street of Pecatonica. A town
that really knows how to put on a parade and hasn’t forgotten what a special day Memorial Day is.
It’s a day that has significant meaning to our men and women in the Armed Forces, all of us Vets and
especially to the families of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Without
this, we wouldn’t be free to have this day and participate in this great parade.
It was great seeing other Tebala Shrine Center Units/Clubs such as the Loves Park Shrine Club, the
Clowns and the Air Squad, Motor Patrol, T Tens, Dresser Shrine Club in the parade. Great representation of
Tebala and a chance to show off what the Shriners are all about. Caring for our kids and caring for our commu-
nities that support us.
If any Shriner in good standing is interested in join the club and having some fun, just contact any mem-
ber. Ladies join us on Friday night Dinner/Meeting night. We go to different restaurants for a Friday night din-
ner & meeting and the Ladies join us. We have a Ladies division of the Blue Haze Choppers called the Blue
Hazettets. ALL ladies are invited to join.
Come on out for a good time, join the club, and join us for dinner with your ladies. Call it date night.
You don’t have to ride. But, if you want to ride, just need a pickup truck or trailer to transport a vehicle. The
club will do the rest.
Blue Haze Choppers would like to send along a “Safe Riding” message to all clubs and units for this 015
parade season. We look forward to seeing everyone, riders, non-riders, family and friends at the upcoming pa-
rades.

BLUE HAZE CHOPPERS AND MOTOR PATROL
SHARE GOOD TIMES TOGETHER
The Blue Haze Choppers and Motor Patrol shared some good times together at the start if the Pecatonica
Parade. Both clubs meeting in Pec for a quick practice, photo shoot and food supplied by Blue Haze
Chopper Hazett Tina Blanchard. Everyone thanked Tina for the lunch and we all shared a lot of laughs
together before the start of the parade.
MOTOR PATROL ROLLS OUT FOR THE 2015 PARADE SEASON
The Motor Patrol rolled into Pecatonica on May 25th for the annual Memorial Day parade and the start of a
very busy parade year for the unit. The riders shown in the picture, left to right, Austin Kelly, Gordon Ash-
er, Mike Hoeth, Leonard Siegfried, Ricky Parks, Brian Wilber and Ron Gardella. All had a great time and
the word on the street in Pec, they want to see them again. Great job guys!
