School Time
We will start seeing buses going thru school zones so please allow yourself extra time and watch out for the precious cargo they move everyday.
Its hard to believe summer is almost over; I wish the heat was. When you work outside as some of us do and you see us please don`t ask if its hot enough. Trust me it is but I have worked in an office before and I rather be outside. Please remember your furbabies; keep fresh water for them and provide them some shade.
We will start seeing a few show dates announced. We do have a National Show Labor Day weekend in Columbus Ohio. At our next meeting we can talk more and I hope to see a few make the trip.
Lately we have had visitors come to our meetings so please make them feel welcome.
Would anyone be interested in another canal cruise? We had a great time on the last trip and we had a full boat.
Matt Hunter mentioned the club cruising to Shealy`s BBQ. He will have details soon. Heavys BBQ could be possible also; its in Crawfordville.
If someone has any ideas for a Saturday or a Sunday afternoon even if it’s just a trip to stretch the legs on our ponies, drop the club a note, also you can add a message to our Facebook page. Last Sunday several of us met up at Dairy Queen. Tony Smith finally got his hand dipped cone. Sonic doesn`t offer them and the last time we met at Sonic, Tony pouted a little,LOL.

Wow!! We just did the national show and now it is time to prepare for the Home Depot show. I guarantee this one is easier. We will need volunteers for 50/50, registration, set up, tear down, parking, and silent auction. We already have some vendors signing up to join us and Home Depot is getting ready. We will get some updated flyers out with sponsor and vendor information. If you know of a local business that would like some publicity and also help the club, we can always use more sponsors. So please ask around. All vehicles are welcome to the Home Depot Show so let all your friends know. The club with the most cars will also get a special award. There a couple of other big events from now to November. There is a driving event in Kershaw, South Carolina, the Pumpkin Run at Hooters, and of course we will have some more cruises. A few people are also interested in going to Jackson, South Carolina to go drag racing (or at least watch). Please watch the calendar for the events. I will also put out the information at the meetings.
Running for President: I would like to take this opportunity to place my name in the hat for CSRA Mustang Club President. I have been the vice president for the last two years and been involved with most of the club events. Some events I have chaired or co-chaired and have been a part of planning, organizing and running shows. I have owned a Mustang for the last 16 years. I work on the cars myself and assist others in club when available. I am also now certified in 2 classes as an MCA judge and have judged in national shows and several local shows. I represent the CSRA Mustang Club when I speak with other cars owners and take great pride in doing so. It would be an honor for me to have your support for club president. Thank You!

Wow! The check presentation was incredible! That pretty much closes the book on the Gateway Southern Stampede. I would like to say “Thank you!” one more time. I am so proud of this club and I am proud and honored to be a member of it!
After much internal debate, I have decided to run as candidate for a position on the Mustang Club of America National Board of Directors. Zafera Aaron has decided to run as well. If you are an active member of the MCA, and over 18 yoa, you can vote in the elections. We would appreciate your support in this endeavor. The ballot will be in the September issue of Mustang Times. If you are a member of the MCA, please vote!
The last MCA show of the year is the “Buckeye Mustang Grand National Show” and it is "sold out," but I think several of us may go up to check out the show anyway. It sounds like it's shaping up to be a good show, and would make a good "cruising" trip (a long cruise, but a good cruise!). There will be several MCA National shows within driving distance next year (St. Augustine in April and Myrtle Beach in September), so start making plans now to attend one or both! The MCA 40th will be next September and will be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The judging sheets for National Shows are available via email in PDF format, if requested. To get your judging sheet contact the National office at [email protected] or use THIS FORM . You must provide your car number off the dash card. The original judging sheet is still available via snail mail by following the instructions on the back of the dash card (Please note that judging sheets are not available for PCA or PCB classes).

Ford engineering and design teams led the development of a one-of-a-kind Apollo Edition 2015 Mustang. The aviation inspired Mustang will be donated to the Gathering of Eagles Charity Auction to benefit EAA youth education programs.
The one-of-a-kind Ford Mustang created for each year’s EAA AirVenture Gathering of Eagles has become something we look forward to each year. And this year’s custom 2015 Apollo Edition Mustang continues the tradition.
Ford is again supporting EAA’s youth aviation programs by donating the custom built 2015 Apollo Edition Mustang for their annual charity auction which takes place on July 23 during the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event.
The 2015 Mustang has undergone several customizations from it exterior with design cues from NASA’s Apollo program that successfully sent and returned men to the moon. This includes carbon-fiber trims, unique graphics and livery.
Mechanical mods include a Ford Performance suspension package, supercharger, X-pipe with side and rear exhaust, six-piston Brembo brakes and custom Forgiato 21-inch performance wheels. With 627 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque it shifts though a new short-throw shifter.
Inside, there are exclusive interior details, including performance gauges, a modified instrument cluster, unique sill plates and embroidered custom Recaro seats, trim panels and floor mats. A special rear seat delete also has a large embroidered set of logos.
Ford Design Manager Melvin Betancourt led the design and engineering teams that developed this unique car.
“The Ford Apollo Edition Mustang salutes man’s greatest technological achievement, with the ingenuity, precision, and power that defined the spirit of American innovation,” said Edsel B. Ford II, a member of the Ford Board of Directors.
“Inspired by the Apollo program, Ford Motor Company committed itself to including exhilarating power, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary craftsmanship in this automobile, which will support the next generation of pilots in EAA’s aviation education programs for young people.”

This Mustang is one of a long line of custom-built one-of-a-kind cars which have been auctioned at the event. The charity auction supports the EAA’s year-round youth aviation programs.

Roush Performance has partnered with Military Autosource to offer a new limited-edition Ford Mustang, which will only be available to the US military through their overseas dealerships.
The 2015Roush Warrior Mustang is available in two versions, either the 2.3 liter EcoBoost or the ROUSHcharged 5.0 liter Mustang with 627 horsepower. Available in Black or Race Red, the Warrior Mustang gets exclusive and unique Warrior badging inside and out, and contrasting graphics to really make it stand out.
It comes with Roush visuals like their trademark front fascia and chin splitter, a hood scoop and rear spoiler, custom rear valance and side window scoops as well. Black painted 19-inch wheels come on both models along with a louder Roush exhaust system. The interior receives a host of badging and special Roush touches including a custom shift ball and embroidered logo head rests.
Pricing starts at about $41,300 for the EcoBoost and $57,500 for the ROUSHcharged 5.0.

YUK, YUK!!!!A blonde walks into a bank in central New York City and asks for the loan officer. She says she's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.
The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank; she has the title and everything checks out.
The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a $250,000 Rolls as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.
Two weeks later, the blonde returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest which comes to $15.41. The loan officer says, "Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"
The blonde replies, "Where else in central New York City can I park my Rolls for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?"
A truck with two truckers was had just passed through small town and was driving on the back roads on the way to a slightly bigger town when they came to an overpass with a sign that read CLEARANCE 11'2".
So, they got out and measured their rig. It was 12'3".
"What do you think?" the passenger trucker asked the driver.
The driver looked around carefully, got in the truck and thin shifted into first as he said, "Well, there's not a cop in sight. Let's take a chance!"
