WELCOME NEW RESCUE FAMILIES

WelcomeWelcomeWelcomeWelcome

Fiona finds a home

Fiona came into rescue in over a year ago. Fiona had some behavior issues

around fear based lack of confidence. For that reason we placed her with a full

time trainer, Nikki Spurgeon in Ooltewah. As Nikki worked with

Fiona, her behavior improved and her confidence built. In order to

socialize Fiona, Nikki took her on various outings to help her be-

come used to different situations and to meet new people. On one

of these trips Fiona met Cindy Brown and Bobby Higgins who had

had three other Bulldogs and who were very experienced in loving

and owning this breed. They were looking for a young female

Bullie to be part of their family and were happy to adopt Fiona.

Viper/Meathead/Caspar finds a home and a new

name Spanky

This boy started life as a Christmas present for

a family that did not understand his personali-

ty. So he was put outside in a muddy pen for

a year when Rusty Lyn talked the family into

letting her take him. She got him home and to

a vet for proper care. As Meathead he spent

some time with Rusty’s Pugs before she called

us. He was fostered by Tanya whose children

renamed him Caspar. Caspar was a busy boy

at Tanya’s and needed to learn some indoor

manners. When Emily Price saw him on our

FB page she thought he would be a great com-

panion for her five year old Bullie, Belle. Cas-

par went with Emily for the weekend and got

his name changed to Spanky and a home for

life.

Maggie—Loved

and Spoiled

Maggie is a loved

and spoiled Bullie

who was surren-

dered to us by her

family whose work

schedule prevented

them from spending

time with her. After

Maggie was posted

on the BCARN site

she was spotted by

the Malone family

who had had a Bull-

dog for twelve

years. They were

looking for a new

family member and

Maggie seemed a

perfect fit for them.

We are so excited that

this evening was such a great success !

Thanks to all who contributed items to our silent auction,

bought our fabulous T-shirts, and most of all attended and

had a great time helping our Bullies.

Montgomery was already eight years old when the Aldridge family adopted

him in 2012. He lived a happy life especially aer Mr. Aldridge started work-

ing from home and Monty shared his day with Ken.

Several weeks ago we received this message:

I wanted to let you know that our beloved Bulldog Montgomery passed

away earlier today aer a ba&le with bone cancer. As you know, we

adopted Montgomery as an older boy (we believe he was about 8 years old

when he became part of our family), but that never stopped him. We may not have

go&en anywhere in a hurry, but we always managed to get there. Bulldogs have a

wonderful way of teaching you that the journey is equally as important as the

desnaon. He brought so much joy to us over these past few years, and he will

forever be part of our family. want to thank you for everything that you and the rest

of the wonderful people with the Smoky Mountain Bulldog Rescue do in promo.ng,

providing for and protec.ng this beau.ful breed. You are making a difference in

the lives of these dogs and in the lives of the people fortunate enough to adopt from the organiza.on.

Montgomery Four wonderful years with his family
