2020 Grand National Cancellation Dear CLC Members:

Well, the COVID-19 crisis has completely upended our plans. This is the message I did not want to have to send, and you did not want to receive.

The Club has reluctantly decided to cancel our 2020 Grand National meet we planned to hold in Kansas City in June.

Given all of the issues and uncertainty surrounding the impact of the COVID-19 virus, and the demographics of our Club, we felt we had no choice. The local county where the meet was to be held, had already cancelled all events exceeding 10 people currently ending only two weeks before our event. The State of Kansas has cancelled school until the end of August. It wasn't looking good for our being able to proceed as planned. We were already receiving requests to cancel registrations, and the number was beginning to grow. As of today, I understand some of you are in areas that are currently minimally impacted by the virus crisis. However, many of us are, and some are in areas that are unfortunately, severely impacted now; and, your situation may change between now and June 9th.

Given the Club's potential liability under the event contracts, the potential for member disillusionment by our holding a less than stellar, poorly attended event, and the most important, the potential health risk to our members, I determined cancellation was warranted.

This is not what we planned, and not what we wanted to do. But, it is a necessity given the world we currently live in. Hopefully, this pandemic will subside soon and we can all safely get back to our lives, and automotive pursuits.

We’ll be back next July in Albuquerque. It’s going to be a great event, hope to see you there.

Until then, stay safe.

Glenn Brown CLC President

First I hope everyone is well, and you are following the Social Distancing guidelines. Thank You!

As if we don’t need a reason for cabin fever here in Wisconsin at this time of year, we have COVID-19 keeping us cooped up in our homes when we really want to be out and about.

This Pandemic has disrupted all of our lives and our daily routines. Badger Region CLC is no exception. We chose not to have a March meeting, and will not be having an April meeting either. Along those lines it was mutually agreed by Crest Cadillac and Badger Region to not go forward with plans for a June Car show as usual. This decision was deemed necessary to ensure our members and Crest’s employees remain safe and healthy. We want to continue to enjoy our cars after all this is behind us.

Most of you should have received the email from Glenn Brown, CLC President, about the decision to cancel this year’s Grand National. If you did not, please see his message below.

Additionally, on Page 3 of this newsletter is an announcement pertaining to the 2020 Fall Festival usually held at the Gilmore Museum in Michigan. Please take note of these changes. Thank You

Happy April, April Fool’s, Easter and Earth Day

Everyone

I would imagine most of you are crawling the walls by now with the safer at home directive. I’ve been crawling them since March 13th and only two trips to

the store. I’m getting pretty good at climbing them. I’m thinking the ceilings are next – could be difficult!

At the Christmas banquet I handed out a survey of various trips and events the club might consider taking. I also asked Dan Cress to publish the survey in the last newsletter. In total I received 37 RESPONSES - WOW!! A huge thank you to everyone. It gives us some ideas and directions what our members interests are. Here is a recap of the survey and some additional items members added.

Fall Driving Tour with Lunch 35 Drive-In Diner 30 Wine Tour with Lunch 29 Drive Inn Theater 24 Maple Syrup Farm 19 Packer Hall of Fame and Stadium Tour 19 A Working Farm with Lunch 19 A Cheese Factory 17 State Capitol Tour 17 “Model A” Days in Sharon, WI 16 Local Museums 16 A Working Sawmill 16 EAA Oshkosh 16 Calatrava Art Center 15 “Thresheree Days” in Richfield, WI 13 A Milwaukee Brewers Game 13 Ice Sculpting Show 8

To the question “Would you like to change the month of the Banquet?”

March 11 No 5 April 4 October 2 May 1

To the question “How many outings would you attend?” 26 responses ranged from 2 outings to as many as 15!

Additional comments added by members to the survey: Tuesday Car Cruise in Delafield, Gus’s Drive Inn in East Troy, A Farm in Washington County, Amish Tour in Fox Lake area, Amish Tour in Dalton area, Repair/Restoration Shops, Visit other Members Car Collections, Visit the Volo Auto Museum, Grohmann Museum, Chudnow Museum, Wollersheim Winery, Herrling Sawmill in Greenbush, and the Big Star Drive-In in Kenosha.

Our members, Jon and Lauren Cody of Stanley, Wisconsin invited us to “Cody’s Classic Cars Showroom”. They offered a tour and lunch.

Jeff and Mary Fillinger have again offered a tour of their car collection.

This is a terrific response! Thank you so much for your participation. We just have to get back to our Saturday membership meetings to layout plans for the balance of 2020. If you have additional ideas, suggestions or comments please give me a call or send an email. Thank you again and stay safe till we meet again.

2020 Cadillac Fall Festival & Concours D'Elegance

POSTPONED; 2021 date Announced

Dear CLC Members and Cadillac Fall Festival Friends

These are unprecedented times and, as a result, unprecedented measures are needed. Due to the health impacts of

COVID-19 pandemic and the many resulting uncertainties, the 11th Annual Cadillac Fall Festival and Concours D’Elegance scheduled for September 24-27, 2020 has been postponed. It is rescheduled for September 23-26,

2021.

It was a difficult decision to make as the event is a major source of revenue for the Museum and benefits needy children in Kalamazoo. However, the Museum Board of Directors believes that the health and safety of the participants, our volunteers and the spectators are of utmost importance and that this is the best decision to keep everyone

safe during these challenging times.

We look forward to bringing everyone together again in 2021 when the normal routines of life have returned. In the interim, event planners will continue to work to make the 2021 Cadillac Fall Festival Concours D’Elegance an event you will want to attend.

The Museum, now closed, will open as soon as the governments’ social distancing requirements are relaxed. We are working to protect your investment in the world-class facility and collections of Cadillac history you have made possible. Like all businesses and most individuals our income is limited. The government has committed to protect the economy, but there are no lifelines for the Museum. We will make it through this difficult time. You made the Museum possible and so we ask that you consider our needs if you can in the months ahead.

I wish you well and stay safe.
