• There were many forests in the region which helped lead to finding natural resources like lumber

Economic ConditionsSince there wasn’t suitable soil for farming the New England Colonies used their other resources like forests and water. They used mills for grain and lumber. They also used their connection to the coast for promoting trade.

Religion RoleThe main reason people came to the colonies was for religious freedom. -where settlers were able to practice their religion without being disturbed by officialsThe Puritans started to bring over their religion to the New World. They had strong beliefs for God and the Puritan leaders and churches greatly influenced society at the time.
