After the approval of the General Body Meeting of ISWM, the new Board took the sacred responsibility to manage the center. As you know, every year, three board members finish their term and a new set of three members is elected by the voting members of the community. This year, the three board members who finished their term were Brs. M. Ali Hazratji, M. Awais, and M. Zubair

No organization can sustain and flourish if it does not respect the opinon of its members. In an organization that is managed by an elected board, like ISWM, this information is even more important. ISWM is primarily a masjid but it also provides number of other services. A survey is designed to have a general understanding of where we stand as a community. The main purpose of this survey is to figure out ways to improve the facilities and services of ISWM. Unless we look at every aspect of our institution

critically, including the Board, we may not be able to find the main problems or areas of concern, I understand that this is a somewhat different and unconventional process for a masjid but the benefits of this approach outweigh its shortcomings. I am confident that the community members would appreciate this effort and would provide their sincere input. Giving an honest opinion, if asked to do so, after all, is a sacred duty of every Muslim.

As per our policy at ISWM, fund raising, by any individual or an organization, for any cause, is allowed only if approved by the President or the Board and conducted according to our and government’s set of guidelines, rules and regulations. Any unauthorized collection boxes left on the premises of ISWM would be removed.

With that said, it is emotionally and physically painful to come to know on daily basis about the sufferings of our brothers and sisters in many war torn places including Syria. Some of us who are directly related to that land suffer from this daily anguish and a feeling of helplessness. We all should pray to Allah SWT to bless that land with peace, harmony and

prosperity. ISWM has been involved in collecting physical and monetary resources for the suffering people of Syria and other places. It is very important to send the collections only through genuine government approved organizations. This would not only help the cause of Syrian people but would also safeguard the interests of our society and the country.
