Last week was Pentecost Sunday where we celebrated the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church of that first Pentecost and are reminded of that we, too, in our baptism and confirma‐tion have received the Holy Spirit and called to live in the Spirit. We know that we are living in the Holy Spirit by the fruits of the Spirit that are manifested in our lives. Some of those fruits are Generosity, Kindness and Charity.
Last Saturday, May 14 was our “ Get On The Bus” event. The families received gifts and comfort items for the long trip covered by your acts of Generosity, Kindness and Charity. I thank you for all your prayers and support.
It was a wonderful experience witnessing the tears of joy as fathers hugged their child and tears of sorrow when it was time to leave. The joy you brought to these families will never be forgotten. You did this!
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to contact families and those that helped to raise funds: The Knights of Columbus, Women’s ministry and Friday Bible Study and to Wal‐Mart for their donations of blankets and pillows for the children. Special thanks to you, the family of St. Francis de Sales for your donation of backpacks and other supplies and hard earned money. We raised $3700 for this year’s Get On The Bus Event.
Thank you for your support and your desire to help these children visit their fathers.
In the coming weeks we will share with you pictures and thanks from the families for your generosity. Blessing,
Deacon Joe
