Annual “Fore” the Kids Golf Outing
Saturday, June 9, noon, Shale Creek Golf Club
Parishioners are invited to take part in the
annual golf outing by golfing in the 18-hole
scramble, attending the dinner, sponsoring a
hole or donating raffle items.
With your help, the Holy Martyrs El Salvador
Mission Group is sponsoring 14 students
pursuing higher education. Our goal is to
build communities and reduce poverty in El
Salvador through education.

Cooking for Domestic Violence Survivors
The Latina Project, an outreach by the women of
Holy Martyrs and our sister parish, La Sagrada
Familia, provides a meal once a month during a
support meeting for women who are survivors of
domestic violence.
You can help by providing part of a light meal,
spending time with the women or babysitting
during their meeting. The next meeting is June
18. An invitation to help is emailed to
parishioners each month.
Food needs to be dropped off at Holy Martyrs
until 1 p.m. Sunday and until 3 p.m. Monday
before each meeting. Please contact Diane Bruce

like to help.
Plant Watering Help Needed This Summer
We are in need of some help with watering our
outdoor plants, especially in the Peace Garden
next to the church entrance. Please call Debbie at

Ministry of Assistance Collection Moved
The monthly collection for our Ministry of
Assistance has been moved from its normal
weekend to Memorial Day weekend because
of the special Catholic Charities follow-up
appeal that took place last weekend.
Holy Family Hospice Services
For people living at home, Holy Family recognizes

patients and caregivers – especially for those who
are not trained in hospice patient care.

We will be doing registration online for next
year’s HMKids classes. Watch for an email in
early summer for all the details!
Sign Up for Confirmation Interviews
Confirmation candidates were sent an email with
information about signing up for June interviews.
Check your email to sign up for the date that fits
your schedule. Interviews are June 6, 7, 11, 12,
13 and 14. Please make sure the candidate has
completed the items on the signup and is ready
to submit them at the interview.
Protecting God’s Children
The Diocese of Cleveland’s “Protecting God’s
Children” program is a continuing effort to instruct
and inform everyone about the protection of
children from sexual abuse. To report any past or
present suspected inappropriate behavior toward
children by priests, deacons, religious, lay ecclesial
ministers or personnel associated with the Church,
please contact the Diocesan Response Service
Office at 216-334-2999 or via e-mail
at [email protected]. You
are also asked to immediately inform local
authorities about inappropriate behavior.
For parishioners who plan to help with children’s
programs, Holy Martyrs will be providing
“Protecting God’s Children” (Virtus) training here on
several dates this summer:
July 16 at 10 a.m.
July 17 at 6 p.m.
Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.

time registrant.” You can then view
a registration tutorial.
Service Hours for Confirmation Candidates
Want to help with the El Salvador Golf Outing at
Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina?
You can help by: welcoming golfers, carrying golf
bags, assembling baskets for the silent auction
and moving items for the silent auction.
Date: Saturday, June 9 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Lunch is included! Contact the church office if
you can help.
Sharing the Gospel With Children
We’re looking for more adults to be part of the
Time Travelers facilitator rotation. This year-round
offering during the 9:30 a.m. Mass involves prayer
and interactive fun activities around the meaning
of the Gospel for children aged 3 (potty trained) to
10. Young people between age 10 and 14 can
help with technology and leading
icebreaker activities.
We are putting together a facilitator schedule
soon. If you are interested, please contact Diane

to attend one of the “Protecting God’s Children”
sessions listed on this page.

50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
The Diocese of Cleveland will host a 50th wedding
anniversary celebration with a 2:30 p.m. Mass on Sunday,
July 30, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
Couples must register online at www.ccdocle.org/mfm.
Look for the bright blue box that says: “Register for the
50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration”.
The deadline for registration is June 25 in order for
couples’ names to be included in the booklet. In July, the
diocese will email Jubilarians a confirmation letter with
instructions, a map and parking information.
