Vocations to the Priesthood
The Archdiocese of Chicago Vocations Office helps men discern a call to the priesthood through re-treats, visits to the seminary and discernment opportu-nities. As well, the Vocation Office works with men to determine their eligibility to apply to the seminary for the diocesan priesthood in Chicago. Finally, the Vocations Office actively works to create a culture supportive of vocations through promotion, education, and parish based efforts to raise awareness. Registrations for CCD 2019-2020 are now open. All new and return-ing students must register at the rectory during office hours. Clas-ses meet two Saturdays per month starting September 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo

En aquel tiempo, Jesús ha-bló del Reino de Dios a la multitud y curó a los enfer-mos. Cuando caía la tar-de, los doce apóstoles se
acercaron a decirle: "Despide a la gente para que vayan a los pueblos y caseríos a buscar alojamiento y comi-da, porque aquí estamos en un lugar solitario". Él les contestó: "Denles ustedes de comer". Pero ellos le re-plicaron: "No tenemos más que cinco panes y dos pes-cados; a no ser que vayamos nosotros mismos a com-prar víveres para toda esta gente". Eran como cinco mil varones. Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Hagan que se sienten en grupos como de cincuenta". Así lo hicieron, y todos se sentaron. Después Jesús tomó en sus manos los cinco panes y los dos pescados, y levan-tando su mirada al cielo, pronunció sobre ellos una oración de acción de gracias, los partió y los fue dando a los discípulos para que ellos los distribuyeran entre la gente. Comieron todos y se saciaron, y de lo que so-bró se llenaron doce canastos.

Convivio de Despedida de Padre Waldemar Todos nuestros feligreses están invitados al convivio de despedida para Padre Waldemar que se estará llevando a cabo el día 23 de junio de 1:30-3:30 PM en el Makuch Hall. Este convivio será una Buena oportunidad pa-ra dejarle saber al padre lo mucho que lo apreciamos y desearle nuestros mejores deseos en su nueva tarea.
Estimado Padre Waldemar Wieladek, En nombre de todos los feligreses, amigos y personal de Santa María de Czestochowa, queremos agradecer le por sus 16 años de servicio en nuestra parroquia. Usted llegó a Santa María de Czestocho-wa en el verano de 2003 como pastor asociado, y en 2012 fue instalado como nuestro Pastor; Durante to-dos estos años, hemos tenido la fortuna de contar con su guía y comprensión espiritual. A través de sus años de servicio pastoral, us-ted ha bautizó y entregó la Primera Comunión a mu-chos de nuestros niños, algunos de los cuales ya son adolescentes o adultos . Ha celebrado la Santa unión del matrimonio entre muchas parejas de nuestra pa-rroquia. Usted también ha estado visitando a muchos de nuestros feligreses que no pueden asistir a la misa, y les ha llevado los últimos sacramentos a los que están cerca de su muerte, y consolado a las familias cuando tienen que despedirse de sus seres queridos. Es, sin lugar a dudas, un momento triste para todos nosotros, y las despedidas siempre son difíci-les. No obstante, al despedirnos de usted durante las diferentes recepciones que se llevarán a cabo este fin de semana, recordemos las memorias que hemos creado juntos, le damos gracias por su servicio en Santa María de Czestochowa, y lo mantendremos en nuestras oraciones mientras comienza un nuevo capí-tulo en su sacerdocio.

Pamiętajmy, aby przychodzić na Mszę św. odpo-wiednio ubranym. Jaką zasadę zastosować, bardzo
prostą. Ubieramy się dla Pana Boga a nie aby zaskoczyć innych wiernych lub roz-praszać albo prowo-kować.
Uroczystość Bożego Ciała Jezus opowiadał rzeszom o królestwie Bożym, a tych, którzy leczenia potrzebowali, uzdrowił. Dzień począł się chylić ku wieczorowi. Wtedy przystąpiło do Niego Dwu-nastu mówiąc: „Odpraw tłum; niech idą do okolicznych wsi i zagród, gdzie znajdą schronienie i żywność; bo je-steśmy tu na pustkowiu”. Lecz On rzekł do nich: „Wy dajcie im jeść”. Oni odpowiedzieli: „Mamy tylko pięć chlebów i dwie ryby; chyba że pójdziemy i nakupimy żywności dla wszystkich tych ludzi”. Było bowiem około pięciu tysięcy mężczyzn. Wtedy rzekł do swych uczniów: „Każcie im rozsiąść się gromadami mniej więcej po pięć-dziesięciu”. Uczynili tak i rozmieścili wszystkich. A On wziął te pięć chlebów i dwie ryby, spojrzał w niebo i od-mówiwszy nad nimi błogosławieństwo, połamał i dawał uczniom, by podawali ludowi. Jedli i nasycili się wszy-scy, i zebrano jeszcze dwanaście koszów ułomków, które im zostały.

Jesteśmy głod-ni, szukamy wtedy chleba. Chleb jest źró-dłem naszej mocy.
Gwarantuje życie na ziemi. Tu na ołtarzu czeka na nas chleb. Jesteśmy spragnieni. Napój jest również po-trzebny do życia. Jesteśmy spragnieni nie tylko na-poju, który ratuje ciało, ale również napoju, który ratuje ducha. Tu na ołtarzu czeka na nas kielich wy-pełniony winem. Jesteśmy chorzy i szukamy lekarza. Tak wie-le jest chorób ciała, że medycyna nie potrafi podać ich liczby. Z każdym rokiem nowe mutacje różnych bakterii i wirusów atakują człowieka. Znamy bezrad-ność medycyny wobec wielu chorób. Szukamy leka-rza. Tu jest lekarz ciała i duszy. Jesteśmy samotni, szukamy przyjaciela. Chcielibyśmy, aby przynajmniej jeden człowiek znał nasze wnętrze. Szukamy przyjaciela, by mu zaufać, by on nas zrozumiał lepiej, niż my sami siebie rozu-miemy, by nas wyprowadził z samotności. Tu jest przyjaciel. Ten Chleb dający życie wiecz-ne, Napój wypeł-niający nas mocą, Przyjaciel, Lekarz, prawdziwy i kocha-jący Chrystus jest ukryty pod postacią
chleba i wina. Ukryty i tak bardzo dostępny, że nie może-my Go rozpoznać. On nieu-stannie zakrywa ten majestat, a odsłania tylko na miarę na-szej wiary. Dziś gromadzimy się przy Eucharystii, aby podzię-kować Chrystusowi za tę Jego cichą obecność i za to, że jest
tak łatwo dostępny dla nas. Błagajmy, aby wzbudził w naszych sercach tyle wiary, byśmy podchodzili do Nie-go jak głodni do chleba, spragnieni do dobrego wina; jak chorzy do leka-rza, który na pewno uleczy. Ks. Edward Staniek

They all ate and were satis-fied. Background on the Gospel Reading
Today, the second Sunday after Pentecost, we celebrate a second solemnity, which marks our return to Ordinary Time. Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. At one time, this day was called Corpus Christi, Latin for “the Body of Christ.” In the most recent revision of the liturgy, the name for this day is expanded to be a more complete reflection of our Eucharistic theology. The feeding of the 5,000 is the only one of Je-sus' miracles to appear in all four Gospels. Luke places it between Herod's question, “Who is this about whom I hear such things?” and Peter's response to Jesus' question about who he thought Jesus was: “You are the Messiah of God.” In Luke the feeding is not the result of Jesus' compassion for the crowd but is instigated by the disciples. They wanted Jesus to send the crowd away to town. Instead Jesus tells the disciples to give them some food on their own. The passage is meant to remind us of two feed-ings in the Old Testament: the feeding of the Israelites in the desert and Elisha's feeding of 100 people with 20 loaves in 2 Kings 4:42-44. It is also connected to the institution of the Eucharist. As in the Last Supper accounts in Matthew, Mark, and Luke and in Paul's account in 1 Corinthians 11:23-24, Jesus takes bread, looks up to heaven, blesses the bread, breaks it, and then gives it to the disciples. In using this exact lan-guage, Luke is reminding his readers that in this mira-cle Jesus is doing more than feeding hungry people as God did for the Israelites and the prophet Elisha did as well. The bread he gives is his body, which he will continue to give as often as the community breaks bread in remembrance of him in the Eucharist.

Waldemar Wieladek, On behalf of all the parishioners, friends, and staff at St. Mary of Czestochowa, we want to thank you for your 16 years of service at our parish. You arrived at St. Mary of Czestochowa in the summer of 2003 as an associate pastor, and in 2012 were in-stalled as our Pastor; during all these years we have been fortunate to count with your spiritual guidance and comprehension.
Through your years of pastoral service, you baptized and gave First Holy Communion to many of our children, some which are teenagers or adults by now. You have celebrated the Holy union of marriage for many couples from our parish. Moreover, you have also been visiting many our parishioners who cannot attend Mass, and bringing last rites to those near their death and comforting the families when they have to say goodbye to their loved ones.
It is, without a doubt, a sad time for all of us, and goodbyes are always hard. Nonetheless, as we come together to say farewell during the different re-ceptions taking place this weekend, let’s remember the memories we have created together, we are grate-ful for your service at St. Mary of Czestochowa, and will keep you in our prayers as you start a new chap-ter in your priesthood.
