Do You Want to Build a Snowman?Come on, let’s go and play. I never see you anymore.

Come out the door. It’s like you’ve gone away. We usedto be best buddies. And now we’re not. I wish you wouldtell me why...

The very first family home movie ever taken at ourhome was of my - at age five - and my father building asnowman. We actually built a whole family. There wasthe Mama and Papa and the child. Mother even joinedthe fun by finding a sweater, a scarf and

These lyrics from above come from the ever popularmovie, “Frozen.” My grandchildren know it by heart. Ilistened to “Let it Go”enough I should even knowthe lyrics. It was even included in the school Christ-mas program. You’d have to live under a rock some-where if you haven’t heard these songs at least oncein the past six months. Now we have the chance tosee the Frozen characters come alive as they present“Disney On Ice” in St. Louis at the Scottrade Centerin Feb./March. What an appropriate story for Wintertime. If you are more interested in trying your handat making your own snowman, check out a build-a-snowman contest on page 15. This event is actuallyfree. Or our very own Weekender Magazine get-away giveaway is asking for snowman photos. (Seethe “on the cover” description - this page.)

This whole issue is is centered around fun winterplaces to go, things to do and people to see. It evenincludes a variety of concerts for those who preferthe warmth of indoors. So enjoy and until nextmonth...

Lilleys' Landingwill again hosttwo winter trouttournaments tolaunch somefriendly competi-tion on Lake Tan-eycomo in 2015 --the Master TroutTournament onJanuary 24 and theVince Elfrink Me-morial on Febru-ary 28. These aretwo-anglers/perteam tourna-ments, fishing from boats only (nowading.) Each tournament costs$50 per team to enter. Cash prizesand trophies will be awarded tothe top four teams. The teamswith the heaviest brown trout andrainbow trout are awarded BigTrout Cash Prizes.

This annual event is a publicfishing tournament at Lilleys'Landing Resort and Marina, onLake Taneycomo. The cold-waterlake offers great rainbow andbrown trout fishing.

The rules of the tournament re-quire artificial baits only; this is a

catch-and-re-lease tourna-ment.

Each tourna-ment starts at 8a.m. and weighin is at 4 p.m.Each team ischecked at thedock in theorder in whichthey signed up,boating past thetournament di-rector with livewells and ice

chests open for inspection. Eachteam will then indicate whether itwill "fish up or down" -- a desig-nation unique to Lake Taneycomoand these contests. Because ofTaneycomo's Trophy Area, andthe special rules that apply there, anglers are allowed to fish aboveFall Creek (lower boundary of theTrophy Area) but may only weighin rainbows less than 12-inches orrainbows 20-inches or more sincethe slot limit prohibits netting fishin that range.

These tournaments are restrictedto artificial lures and flies only.

The Missouri Department of Con-servation defines live bait as anynatural or live bait or any artificialbait that is soft (plastic or natural)or scented -- so all Power Bait orGulp baits are prohibited.
